How often do you change the bulbs so the chameleons get the right amount? Do they get weaker as they age?

Veiled female eye infection, not eating

She is doing better. The showers, reptiboost, and eye ointment has helped. Her color is looking better, she's still of course thin and she still can't see. Will she eventually get her sight back with the vitamins and ointment? Do you think the blindness could be perminant? I bought a new basking...

Veiled female eye infection, not eating

Ok. So, I got the reptiboost. I gave her a shower and dropped drops of reptiboost into her mouth when she was drinking the water droplets. She doesn't rub her eyes at all. The humidity seems to help her eyes open better but she still doesn't seem to be able to see. I'll keep up the showers and...

Veiled female eye infection, not eating

I do put her in the shower and she seems to enjoy the water and humidity. She does drink the droplets. Her eye is visible after the shower, but she acts like she can't see. I will try stunning the cricket to see if that works. I tried feeding her an alive cricket and when it's leg touched her...

Veiled female eye infection, not eating

A picture of Athena. I've been giving her "showers" to get high humidity hoping that would help her eyes. I need help with feeding her. I'm able to get her to drink and I've been trying to hand feed her watered down baby food with a syringe. I'm trying to get her some sort of nutrition. It's...

Veiled female eye infection, not eating

please help. My veiled Athena has an eye infection. She has seen the vet and we are giving her eye ointment antibiotics. She can not see very well to hunt. The eye infection is clearing up but the ointment leaves her eyes blurry. She acts like she can't see, the way she maneuvers herself around...

    Cleaning a cage after parasites...

I just lost Jade, a baby female veiled chameleon to suspected parasites. :( She was just too tiny. We did everything we could, the vet couldn't even do what she wanted to do because she thought it would hurt her more than help her... We gave her meds, got her to drink, but she was just too...

    Very lethargic baby veiled

Sad News...She made it through the night, which was a big concern for me. We got her to take the meds, drink some, but she was just too tiny. She fought though, she was a tough little girl and tried really hard to get better. I will miss sweet Jade. :(

    Dechlorinated water?

Thank you for the input and advice. I don't mind letting the water sit for 24 hours, just wondering cause it is room temperature water not warm.

    Dechlorinated water?

Is it necessary to de chlorinate the water for chameleons? We have city water is that safe enough? I've been letting the water sit for 24 hours before misting them, but is it necessary?

    Dehydrated Baby Veiled???

Is it important to dechlorinate the water? I've been setting the water out for 24 hours before using it, but if it doesn't matter I'll use warm water from the tap.

    Slowly growing...

Jannb the vet believes it is parasites. She gave me antibiotics for her. She isn't doing too well today, but hopefully she will come around. The vet suggested I smear chicken baby food on her mouth to hopefully get some food into her belly. She also said sugar water to help her out...any other...

    Very lethargic baby veiled

Ok so the vet suspects parasites, which is what Jannb had said could be why she hasn't grown. We are not out of the woods yet, but she is on an antibiotic that I hope went into her mouth...she has a warm mist humidifier running on her for what the vet suggested only 24 hours, and I'm smearing...

    Very lethargic baby veiled

Thank you. 3 more hours and hopefully the vet who sees her can figure it all out. She's the only reptile specialist available today in my area. And the office made an opening between her surgeries thank goodness. Everyone else wanted to book appts for later this week and without treatment I...

    Very lethargic baby veiled

Yes. I gut load the crickets with fresh vegetables and dust them with calcium. She eats the exact same diet as Xerxes. I have tried meal worms, the ignore them. Crickets seem to be all they want. I'm trying fruit flies but they seem to ignore those too....

    Very lethargic baby veiled

Yes, I was scared when they arrived because I asked for juvenile and they sent me babies. I emailed them to get the age and they said 5 to 7 months. They stated this on 2 separate emails. Experts here said more like 5 to 7 weeks... I'm posting a pics of Xerxes the male, he arrived in the same...

    Very lethargic baby veiled

I have a vet appt today at 2. I woke up and Jade was really sleep. Walking around the cage but not opening her eyes...I moved her to a tiny little cage and I have her under a heat lamp, but I'm monitoring the temp. She has moist leaves that I keep spraying. I moved her because I thought she...
