What type of water to use?

Great, if I can keep using the RO water then I'll do that. I like the fact that the nozzles stay nice and clean.

What type of water to use?

I've already got a misting system for my basilisk, but what type of water should I use for a panther chameleon? I'm currently using RO/DI water for my basilisk enclosure. But, her water bowl is filled will dechlorinated tap water. The RO/DI is really pure, so it hasn't clogged the nozzles...

    Help selecting a Panther Cage

I've considered a diy by me, but I've haven't mastered the finishing look. So, I'll probably just buy a nice finished cage. It would need to pass the wife's eyes and I doubt my cage build would.

    Chameleon cage

I don't own one, yet. But from what I've been reading, you need a screen cage. Yours looks like it's solid walled on three sides and top. Probably won't have enough ventilation.

    Help selecting a Panther Cage

I've been searching and searching, but I think it's really just down to these: DIYCages: http://www.diycages.com/15201/15243.html LLLReptile: http://www.lllreptile.com/products/10309-24-x-24-x-48-inch-aluminum-screen-cage-5 I'm leaning towards the LLL model, based on some of the...

    Help selecting a Panther Cage

Thanks awesome thread about drainage. I was thinking the DIY was the better choice, since they had free shipping and they looked like the same cage. But I've been reading reviews were people say they like their LLL cages better than the DIY. Neither was bad, just they liked the LLL better...

    Help selecting a Panther Cage

They look nice too, just 1.5x the cost of the DIY for a slightly smaller cage. I'm still leaning towards the DIY cage at this point. Now it looks like all these cages, just have a flat plastic removable bottom. If I have a mister spraying down, how do I handle the dripping water? Won't it...

    Help selecting a Panther Cage

Oh yeah, I see you recommended them. Do you have to line it with the chicken fencing? Or is that just an extra precaution? I'd prefer not to block the view with more screen/fencing.

    Help selecting a Panther Cage

Looking to slowly start setting up a Panther Chameleon cage. I've been told the 24"x24"x48" tall should be good. Now, I see they come in nylon screen with plastic frame or aluminum screen with aluminum frame. The nylon cages seem to run a little wider. I really like to aluminum cage, but...

    Veiled or Panther?

OK, thanks found them. Looks like the size I'll need to get is 24"x24"x48", which is being sold by several of the sponsors. I already have a mister that I'm using on my Basilisk tank with two nozzles, but it can handle 15. I'll just add (1) for the chameleons change. So, I should be set there.

    Veiled or Panther?

Yeah, I think we're leaning heavily towards a Panther male. I see they're more $, but the colors of some of them are unbelievable. I've been searching some of the sponsors sites. I just haven't found where all of the sponsors are listed, so I just keep waiting for a different one to pop up on...

    Veiled or Panther?

Cool. I've read to get them around 5 months for best luck. So, they should be able to correctly sell me a male when the time is right.

Yeah, we were gonna get a male. Do you know how old before you can tell male from female?

    Veiled or Panther?

OK, go to know. So I'll plan on using the Reptisun 5.0 tube for UVB and replace every 6 months. So, it seems there is minor difference between the two as far as care. If I'm correct this is the minor difference: Panther - little more humidity (60%) and little less heat (mid 80's for...

    Veiled or Panther?

I see you recommend the Reptisun 5.0 tube light. Is there something wrong with the Mecury Vapor bulbs for UVB? I use a ReptileUV for my Basilisk and replace every year. They're supposed to disperse the UVB about 24" from the bulb, where I believe the tube bulbs have to be about 6-8" from...

    Veiled or Panther?

Thanks. I did a google search for care sheets for both about an hour ago. It said the Panther needs a humidity of 60-85% and the veiled needs a humidity of around 50%. Is this correct, the Veiled needs less humidity? Ever other thing they listed seemed to be the same between the two...

    Veiled or Panther?

Hi, new to the boards. Not to lizards though, I've had many lizards and currently have a female green basilisk. Just haven't kept a chameleon. While out and about yesterday, we saw a few chameleons at a local pet shop. These were adults that were not for sale, not like we were buying one...

    Automatic Mister?

I believe I'll go with the Promist PM-50. I am probably going to upgrade the nozzles to the ones you can take apart and clean. I'll let you know how it works out. Thanks for the suggestions and guidance. Craig

    Automatic Mister?

Has anybody tried the Mister Moisture Automatic Misting System from LLLReptiles? http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/reptile-supplies/bowls-drippers-and-humidifiers/-/mister-moisture-automatic-misting-system/ I am considering it to add to my Pygmy Leaf Chameleon cage. I am currently using...
