Coloration and pattern also play a huge roll. What looks like a $300 cham might only look like a $150 cham to someone else. So it also depends on what your buyer is looking for in terms of the way they want their chameleon to look. You can always start high and then lower if you don't have any...
Awesome! Have any ideas on where your buying them from? I'm still lookin around. I'm lookin to eventually have 1.2 and I wanna make sure the male isn't related as breeding is a future possibility.
Just wanna say, while I agree that you should eventually upgrade to a 24x24x48, the size you have at the moment is fine for now. Of course you should definitely start saving, as these cages aren't cheap, but I'd say you have another month or two before you need to upgrade. A smaller cage will...
I love gargoyles! Sadly I don't have any, but I think they look awesome. I'm no expert but he looks like a dalmatian to me. And I don't mind the pics. In fact I encourage them and I'd love to see your gargs! Grats on your first crestie! :D
Looks pretty good to me. You've obviously done your research and you are to be commended for that. Just a few things:
I can't tell from the pics, but if you haven't already, it's always a good idea to put some river rocks on top of the soil in the pots so that if your cham tries to eat any...
It wasn't my initial intention, but after further research I came to the realization that it was for the best. So I'll be adding at least a pothos, and maybe some moss. Maybe some ferns or something. And yeah, setting up enclosures is always so fun, creating a little ecosystem inside your home.
Lol, its ok. This is the pygmy enclosure section of the forums after all. I can't w8 to start settin this tank up, but this is the first step, so I'm kinda w8in on replies...
My order from NEHerp finally came! I need help with the order that the substrate stuff goes. Just want to confirm so I don't have to redo it. Refer to the second pic. Is it (from bottom to top) drain rocks, mesh, ABG mix, leaf litter?!? Do I need anything else as far as substrate goes?!? Gettin'...
I haven't read all these posts, because they're just too lengthy for my lazy brain to take in at the moment, I would just like to put in my two cents. The humanization of chameleons is somewhat justifiable. I believe chameleons have the capacity to like or dislike, not just make practical life...
I've had these two girls for a little over a month, and these are some shots I've gotten. Most of them can be found on my Instagram (along with chameleon pics of course) @crumbsample Hope you like! :p
