    Really Bad Shedding Issues.

you have way more chameleon experience than me so take this for what it's worth. I would wonder if it isn't as pssh said some underlying issue with this guy (skin/shed). I gave out some crested geckos to my neices and nephews for christmas and one died due to stuck shed (he was small and...

Chams eyes closed and not eating

yes he needs the UVB and the 40 watt (or if 40 is to high try lower watt as carol said), the house hold bulb is to create a warm spot for him to "sun bathe" while the UVB supplies UVB to convert into D3, they work togeather to do what the sun would normally do, the thing is the UVB doesn't put...

When your body can't decide to have a heart attack or exploding.

I think she has a senegals, so I'm not sure on there temps but would think 60s over night should still be safe. as others have said if you do need heat over night (and can't heat the whole room) you should use a cermic heat bulb or some other source that doesn't put out ANY light. I know...

    lookin for recommendations

I'd like to see some pics of these as well, I've been wondering what types of flowering plants/vines I could add in. I maybe a guy but I still like color (part of the reason I have a panther after all), would be a plus if it also smelled good! I've been wondering about honeysuckle, I know as...

    hanging pothos

I never had much luck hanging it in a cage, I've heard of some people putting the pot on a tallish plant stand (just make sure it has a good base and is secure so it can't tip over) that would seem like the easiest to me. depending on the frame of the cage you might could attach something...

Can I sign up for handling 101?

First off, Love the name (Maxameleon, Classic!), I have a Max also (not short for anything). what I did with my Max was just started handfeeding (I was kind of shocked he hand fed the first day, even tho the breeder said he had not been hand feeding him), I would only get him out for deep...

    New Veiled Chameleon

Just thought I'd recap this tread, I agree with David, good job Andrew and ever one who helped. it's also good to see this tread is helping others (ie molson, and I'm sure others that haven't posted. it's great to see a story play out like this rather than (as it sometimes does), some one...

Anybody know of a high quality Jackson breeder?

he's eating and pooping, he hasn't had his first shed with me but he's doing well. he's much smaller than my panther at that age and as such seems to have less of a appetite, but I guess that is to be expected as they are a smaller species.

    Reptiglo or Reptisun???

they're pretty close, I read a report some place (yeah I know) that repti-sun was closer to the natrual sun light or some such, I've also heard repti-glo starts to degrade (the UVB output) sooner than repti-sun so it should be changed more often , but I don't have a UVB metor so I can not...

Anybody know of a high quality Jackson breeder?

I got my male jacksons (xanthophus) from Lancecham (forum member), he had one or 2 more males at that time, I also bought my panther from him (a few months befor) if he still has them I'd suggest him, my little guy seems to be doing great and lance is very helpfull any time you have questions.

    RV free range/ cham room

haha yeah, unfortunately I think the fuel cost would made it prohibitively expensive.... yeah but since it's fairly small the built in AC/heat unit does a good job at controlling the "room tempature", I also have the standard heat and UV lights setup for basking. thanks for the comments...

Why did you name your cham what you named him?

my panther, "Mad" Max; The Road Warrior because I liked them movie(s) and I travel alot so he would be a "road lizard" Morpheus my Jacksons because I was trying to think of something to do with three horns, which made me think Trinity, which in turn made me think of the Matrix, but I didn't...

    RV free range/ cham room

Thanks for the comments all, I think they like it and it's easier on me (having a drain and easier setup once I get where I'm going.) I'm already setup in WV, chams in place! I have 2 of the walls covered, one with forest/water fall and one' s a beach scene, I'm still gong to cover the...

    New Veiled Chameleon owner

yeah she is looking rather large for that cage, I'd probably go for 48" What kind of uvb bulb do you have? I only ask because some of the compacts and some "cheap" brands have seemingly caused eye issues in chameleons, I'd steer clear of the "zilla" brand, to be on the safe side most recommend...

    favorite species

this is a hard one.... I love panthers colors (thats why I bought my panther first) but then I love all the horned and finned ones because they look like little dinosaurs. in addition to the panther and jacksons (xanthophus) I already have, some time down the road I'd love to own any or all...
