Question for those of you with large potted plants

Agreed! I've gone from large potted plants to bare bottoms. I hang everything now. It's better coverage, and easier to clean. I use puppy training pads for substrate. (I get them cheap)....

    Sambava?!

I didn't look at the colours. There are many other traits that make sexing baby panthers a little easier. Based on the additional pictures though, I'm pretty certain that's what you've got.

    Am I Crazy?

I got my first cham last year. Since then, I've taken over an entire floor of my house. I have 45 chams now. 5 locales of panther and some nice veileds. Oh, and I've quit my job and I plan to breed chams full time. I'm crazy!

    live plant suggestions

After trying a few different plants, I'm gonna say the foolproof plant is the umbrella. I love and hate the ficus. The ficus doesn't like change or to be touched, so in my mind, not a good plant for chameleons. Umbrella!

My girl's story - longest gestation ever?

The very first time I bred an Ambilobe female, it took her 73 days from mating. She laid 3 times. 1st time was 73 days, she laid 19 eggs. 28 days later, 14 eggs, 7 days after that, 19 eggs. I'm assuming the 2nd and 3rd times were from retained sperm. The timelines are off, so, I'm calling it a...

    Why chameleons make good pets

I'll just pipe in with responses to your points above 1) I have 30 chameleons in my home. People walk in and want to know where they are. No smell. Or, like humans, walk in on them dropping a bomb and yes, you will likely smell something. Use live plants. 2. Get corrugated plastic sheets for...

Live Plants for Baby Cham cage

The long leaf one with the white trim is a dracaena by the looks of it. The other I'm not sure on.

"If you need drainage for indoor habitats, you're doing it wrong!" Over watering

great topic Preamble: I am new to chameleons. I've been keeping and breeding mammals all my life. Amazon parrots as well. We all want to replicate environments that animals experience in the wild, which is admirable. How many dogs and cats are stuffed in cages? We will never be able to...

    Panther Triple Clutch

She didn't get them all out last week. So it's a double clutch with 3 lays. She laid 17 eggs. She's pretty flat, there is nothing left inside....except for a large number of silk worms, and a horn worm. She was hungry.

    Question on breeding

I found buyers for any potential babies. That was my solution. Since then I've gotten more females and have a small cham business set up. I'm not culling anything because you're essentially counting your babies before they hatch.

    Panther Triple Clutch

I got a virgin female panther in June. She was 18 months old. I bred her on Sept 25th. She laid clutch one on Nov 19th. Last week she laid again. Just this morning I heard scratching in her cage, I couldn't find her. Looking closer, it appears as though she is going to lay again. I've heard...
