Sorry for taking so long to reply, I forgot the name of this site.
Anyway, I know the cost and care needed to breed them. I had my male and females cage close to each other a while back and she would not eat at all. As soon as a made it so she could not see him she would eat. SO I can't keep...
I have read online not to put the male into the females cage. I also have read that they are receptive for 11 days a month, I have been trying for 2 months.
I have been trying for over 2 months now to breed her, I put her into the males enclosure every 4-5 days sometimes a bit longer depending on how much she eats. She will turn dark colors, sway, and sometimes run from the male if he approaches her. The male is wanting to mate, he will do a mating...
...
Yeah, that's one way you can do it...
Right before I had my Jackson's (A few months back) I went to a Petco store getting stuff I needed for them. There was a lady who worked there telling me she uses the spray for her veiled chams, she said it was easy and more effective way to give them...
I have a Jackson cham that I believe to be pregnant.
I would like to know if there is some extra care I need to give her to help her stay healthy through her pregnancy...
:)
Ok so I put her in the males enclosure, just as a test, and she turned a coal black. The male acted is if he was scared to go near her, he stayed very still as did she. I took her out after a few minutes and as soon as I took her out of the cage she turned back to a green color. I have also...
Thanks
Thanks for the help and link, I read all of the care sheet it shed a good bit of light. How much do you think I should spray them with calcium? 1-2 times a week?
I currently have a small colony of Dubias, I mix a bunch of stuff for there food but I add a TON of the Exo Terra Calcium + D3 to there food so my Jacksons will be getting that extra supplements.
I also spray the Dubias they eat about 4-5 times a week with the Zilla Calcium Supplement spray...
Light
I think it should be fine, so long as she is not right up on it. I have heard that it can burn there skin, I don't know if this is true and that's why I don't use them. I would recommend getting the long bulbs as soon as you can, you may not need to but I would not risk burning off the...
No she is CB
No she is Captive breed, she was born in the wild along with her parents.
I am not sure if she was kept with other males before I got her because I ordered her from a reptile whole sale store. I asked a lot of questions before I got her and they said she was anywhere from 8-10...
I don't think so...
I don't think she was gravid before I mated her, before I mated her she was very skinny. She was eating around 2-3 crickets a day but she had no meat on her, when she was basking you could see what looked like her ribs.
I mated her about a month ago and ever since she has...
I have done tons of research on her being pregnant so I know how to care for her and the babies. I just want a second opinion on if she is pregnant, she has been gaining a good bit of weight lately.
A month+ ago I put her with my male Jackson for a full week (7 days) and she was...
Ok thanks. :)
Thanks for the help, I went ahead and have been using the Mass Cane, with very close monitoring, I have another plant in there also, I have had it in there a while and she loves it. I don't remember what the name of that plant is though, I think it is out of season though. She...
....
Ok, I don't have to use the blue oat grass, just wanted something for the bottom of my cages. What is bad about the other two though? I know you said cosmetic, but would I be able to use them?
I was wanting to put some more live plants in my Jackson chameleon(s) enclosures. I went to the store and got these:
Blue Oat Grass
Majesty Palm
Mass Cane
Are any of them poisonous to them?
I did a lot of research and did not see anything about the blue Oat Grass, and seen...
