    Getting the XL enclosure ready

Yes. Thank you!! I mostly just wanted the pvc bars to hang plants and branches off of, the lipstick plant in the back is the prototype. I have a pothos, a prayer plant and a nerve plant in her current enclosure that I plan on transferring to the xl enclosure, for a little bit of familiarity...

    Getting the XL enclosure ready

Still a lot of work to do, I’m aware. But thought I’d put Sweet Caroline in there to explore a little. Let her acclimate a little before her big move. The goal is also to add some of the same plants from her smaller enclosure for even more familiarity when the time comes. She’s having a blast...

    It’s a start….

A lot of keepers recommend using frozen, to be honest. With their teeth and claws, they can actually do damage to the snake if they fight back.

    It’s a start….

Dart frogs are so beautiful. Good job convincing your friend to get one!! Snakes are cool. I’ve had a couple smaller breeds in my life. My brother has had larger breeds. They’re really very gentle and great pets.. if you can handle feeding them mice.

    It’s a start….

Yes. I just love their passion and desire to learn. I’m grateful there’s people out there like them. I wish more of my friends enjoyed reptiles; so many people are so skittish about them (I do think I’ve convinced my running buddy to get a crested gecko… so I’m making progress 😂). I remember...

    It’s a start….

Yes. I’ve learned a lot from him. There’s another reptile enthusiast that I’ve followed for a long time named Dav Kaufman (sp??). He goes all over the world to observe and learn about reptiles in their native habitats. He did an episode where he travelled to Madagascar to observe chameleons and...

    It’s a start….

You got it 👍🏻!! Everyone has been so welcoming and helpful. As long as you don’t get annoyed with all my newbie questions I’ll definitely be around! I was looking at small a/c units. I’ve found some smart devices (space heater, thermo/hygrometer, humidifier, plus smart plugs to set timers on the...

    It’s a start….

I actually opted to get a hybrid enclosure since keeping humidity within range out here has been a challenge. It seems like the first year owning a chameleon is a big learning process… like most other things in life 😂. I’m hoping that the hybrid doesn’t trap the heat too much in the summer as we...

    It’s a start….

I got Sweet Caroline’s adult enclosure. The size is overwhelming (I’m used to crested geckos and snakes) but I’m learning everything I possibly can. The structure is a bit flimsy for my liking so I want to reinforce the seams before I do work inside the actual cage. For now I removed the drip...

    Shes shedding!!

Yes. Been doing a lot of research and working on it already. I’ve been really lucky and found a lot of good sized Cham-safe plants (pothos, bromeliads and prayer plants) on the clearance rack at Lowe’s, maybe a brown leaf that needs to be removed but literally nothing wrong with them. My mom...
