A dripper will help keep your cham hydrated. I love the Zoomed Big and Little Drippers but you can make one pretty easily at home by just poking a pin in the bottom of a (clean) plastic milk bottle.
When you mist - how long do you do it for?
Soil is an impaction risk for chams - I would...
Can you tell us what plants you have and also what your watering schedule is?
Some plants can make chams ill and a dehydrated cham will often refuse to eat.
Is his/her cage in a low traffic area of the house and can he/she see any other pets you may have? You should try to bother your cham as...
Deremensis
I love the sails. Quadricornis are cool for the same reason. I just think Deremensis have nicer patterning and that back sail /drool. Gorgeous creatures.
Great pictures :) I don't wanna stress him out enough to get him to flare up for all the dark spots and whenever it does happen by accident I can never get a camera on him :P
His name is Yoshi :)
I was under the impression this guy was 5 months old. But some forum members seem to think he is very big for that age. Guy at the store said 12 weeks old when I got him. Here's a pic -
He is pretty puffed out... but I'm not 100% sure on his age and I did think he might be older than the...
She's not albino... Possibly axanthic? Dunno if that can happen in chams but it would make sense for her to be super yellow if she has no blue or green pigment.
Any which way she's an awesome looking cham. Hope she grows up healthy and it doesn't interfere with her mating. Sure would love to...
If you get a thermostat with your heat pad you should be fine. Heat pads are designed to let out a gentle heat andheat up items in their way rather than heating the air around them. They shouldn't burn your tub unless they malfunction... but if they do and you have a thermostat it will cut power...
Yea... he's only 5 months and already showing some fantastic colour. Some cool turquoises coming out.
I love how much he's developed since I had him. Never get used to watching an animal grow up. It happens so fast too... you really notice the changes even from one day to another sometimes...
Lol those poor panthers. They were stressing out so much. Silly Steve-o. Keep handling Chams and geckos like that you'll have no fingers left by the end of the day.
Moved into his new reptibreeze. Just wondering if this is normal for a veiled... looks mildly dehydrated to me but I'm no expert so... Urates are normal and white so I don't think it's a serious thing. Just want to get ahead of it if it's developing.
Bought my XL Reptibreezes from Amazon at £80 each. Shipping was free. If you can't afford that then I don't wanna be mean or anything but you shouldnt be getting a cham.
He was pretty young when I got him... about 2 months I believe. He was tiny... Grown about 50% since then. :)
I have kept the doors open for about an hour now and moved his lamp a little further away - his basking spot is now at 83F and he seems to have calmed a lot. Still want to get him...
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled, ~5months old
Handling - As little as possible. Had to take him out once after doing some research on this forum and finding out most of what the store gave me wasn't so good for him.
Feeding - Release about 9-12 crickets/day into his enclosure. He...
