I think that its highly likely that I had too much moisture in the vermiculite during the final few months of incubation, which caused the egg shells to become thicker and more leather like. I don't think it ever got too warm for the eggs, topping out at 70 degrees at most. I did my best to...
I raised all three of my parsoni from juveniles. The male was a bit bigger than the both females, so I'm guessing he was at least 6 months to a year older than them. The females were about the same size, so I'm guessing they were also very similar in age. They were all wild caught back then...
They are very nice! Quads are my second favorite species, and if my parsoni quest falls out from under me, I'll be getting a small harem of them very soon.
Thanks for sharing the pics. We don't get to see too many pics of them.
Good luck with the egg laying and incubation!
I bred a trio of Parsoni from 1990 to 1996. Had two babies hatch in late 1996 with the remaining eggs all dieing with full grown embryos. The two babies only lasted a few hours before dieing. I still am not certain but I believe I provided too much humidity the last month of incubation...
OMG! All of these photos are top notch and should win!!!
I think ChameleonForums should make a calender with these photos and make a fortune!
Seriously, everyone that submitted the above pics should be complimented on not only their skill with a camera, but for thier skill with keeping...
That is great news! How diverse are the eggs? Depending on your price, I'd like to get anywhere between 2.4 and 3.6 if we can work unrelated males and females.
Could you PM me your price?
Any chance you could email me pics of the parents?
email is [email protected]
Thanks a bunch and best...
That is the best looking vivarium I have seen in a long time! Absolutely top notch! Even better than zoo quality. You are very talented!
You should be proud of that! Thank you for sharing the process.
Hello.
I am wanting to buy 2.4 juvenile or young adult quadricornis. If anyone that lives near an importer or reputable breeder could cherry pick for me, I'd be very grateful and be happy to pay you for your time and effort in getting these to me.
I can paypal money in advance once specimens...
Back in '94 and '95 I had two females lay 3 clutches over that 2 year period.
I placed about 18 inches of soil, mixed with peat moss, along with a few small tropical plants planted around the edges, inside a large laundry tub (24" in diameter, about 20" tall) at the base of their large ficus...
Thanks Chris.
Understood, which is why I only asked for simple negative or positive, no bashing.
If this thread needs to be locked to prevent that around here, I would have no problem with that, as I don't want any bashing either.
I just received an email from the owner of www.globalexoticpets.com telling me he has some 'rare' chameleons coming in. Several months ago I emailed them with my chameleon 'wish list' but they didn't have any of this particular species at the time. Quite honesly, I forgot all about them...
Hi Dean.
Too bad. I was hoping that maybe one of the large chameleon importers/breeders might be bringing in a few more 'captive bred' baby parsoni from 'Europe' or Indonesia ;)
I'm still hoping that 1.2 to 2.4 babies fall in my lap at a reasonable price! :)
I'll just keep looking.
Ken Kalish hatched a few baby parsoni back in the mid '90's. Rob Velton hatched a fairly large clutch in the late 90's. Donovan Swafford hatched at least one clutch in 1999, early 2000. That's when I lost track of the hobby al together due to other interests and responsibilities.
I was...
