    if you can afford aluminium/steel mesh that shouldn't break, that's what i've used with no problems. 3 wooden sides will work if you can provide enough ventillation for the viv to dry out after misting etc, maybe put a mesh side at the bottom for more air flow where the water collects - unless...

    yeah he was only holding his head up for about 5 minutes then continued to bask. he had a big drink and the pops seemed to grow further and further apart but i'm going to check on him in the morning and if there's still a problem i'll be consulting a vet, i will probably ring a few anyway just...

    yeah, the probe for my thermometer is directly under the bulb at the highest point and the bulb itself is about 5/6 inches above the mesh. its the first time he's been up there though

    mouth looks normal, no mucus (other than throwing up earlier) the popping only started after the throw up he is now sitting with his head held up really high, tilted back (not on the mesh at the top any more but under the basking lamp) he also did a poop which looks normal

    what would be the first signs of a RI? he isn't gaping but i've seen him open his mouth to let a tiny pop come out a few times in the last 10 minutes

    basking temp is 82-83 which is about 10 inches below the mesh at the top surely it isn't normal for them to throw up?
