    Yeah, Daddy! Nicely done :)

    Pygmy fine tuning.

I've heard that pure coco fiber bedding is a great substrate, and is naturally anti-fungal. I'm using it now, and so far so good. I also cut 4 plexiglass panels to place on the top screen if humidity levels needed to be brought up. Then I can remove 1, 2, 3, or all 4 panels if the humidity gets...

Thanks, TV, I checked out the Calibration link. I'll give it a try :)

    Hygrometer

Revision Apparently, PATIENCE is something that wasn't described in the exo terra hygrometer instructions :) In my behalf, I'd like to say that with the advent of the internet, everything offers such instant gratification! Hehe...not so with hygrometers. Once I opened the doors and allowed...

    Hygrometer

Just wondering what everyone's experiences have been with hygrometers and correct humidity readings. I have my hygrometer set in the middle of the enclosure, disguised amongst the foliage. It started out in the 60's, and then went up to the 70's and 80's. Now it's on 99% all the time. I'm just...

    Brev Home, Work in Progress

You guys are too kind! Thanks for the compliments :) Note taken, Brad, about the leaf litter. I think that will add the final touch for them to feel at home. I'll experiment with something over the front door panel, to minimize bug escapes. Maybe a swath of vinyl screen.

    Brev Home, Work in Progress

Ok I've added most of the plants to my future Brev Condo. I'm still going to add some more epiphytes, leaf litter, and maybe some more miniature plant species, but it's pretty much done. Now I need for the Shefflera and palms that I planted to grow. Once they fill in, I think the foliage will be...

    Taller Enclsoures for R.Brev?

Have you read the How-To guide by Tom Routhouska? It's very good. Here's the link: http://www.chameleonnews.com/?page=article&id=63 He says his "tall" tanks are around 17" high. I think as long as you can maintain the correct heat and humidity, with good ventilation, the height shouldn't be...

    lights

compact uvb So, if I have this kind of hood with these kind of bulbs on my tank: http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/reptile-supplies/light-fixtures/-/exo-terra-compact-fluorescent-terrarium-canopy-24/ Will these bulbs be insufficient for Pygmy Brev's?

    Heat Source

Question for everyone who has Brev's, or has raised them in the past. I live in the Seattle area, so it can get quite chilly in the winter. My Vivarium will be set up in my living room. In winter we keep the room temp at 68 at night. I'm sure it falls below that, but that's where we have it...

    Back Wall of Vivarium

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. I'll definitely keep checking into it before getting anything. I had heard that the Mist King system has high-tech no drip nozzles, which can be adjusted to mist as little as 5 second intervals. Still, I'll keep researching :)

    Back Wall of Vivarium

Stages Wow, I'll have to try the Epiweb. Meanwhile, I've finished the first steps of my vivarium. I decided to go with the exo-terra: 18x18x24. From what I've read, this size of viv will house 1.2 nicely. Here are some pics of what I've finished so far. The Great Stuff foam worked beautifully...

Stump Tailed Chameleons book Just wondering, I looked on Amazon for "Stump Tailed Chameleons, Miniature Dragons of the Rain Forest" and it's $72. Have you read this book? It looks great, but, wow, that's a lot of cash for what looks like a small book.

    Humidity for Pygmy Brev's

Perfect, thanks you guys! I'll check out FL Chams site. I chatted with Mike the other day, and he says he'll have some CB brevs this summer, so I think FL Chams is where I'll get mine.

    Humidity for Pygmy Brev's

I'm having a great time putting together my vivarium, and there are some very knowledgeable people on this site. I've found great techniques for Brev husbandry and habitat set-up, but I can't seem to find anything about the actual percentage number for humidity in their viv. Most of the info...

    Back Wall of Vivarium

Hey Gang, Another question for you long-time Cham pro's! I've decided on a 36x18x18 Exo-Terra for my pygmy brev's (when I get them). Regarding humidity, and presentation, I want, of course, the best of the best. Has anyone tried the technique that they have displayed on Black Jungle with...

    foggers / misting system

Fogger I am setting up my first viv for pygmy brevs, and was wondering if a fogger would be ok in addition to an automatic misting system? Any of you advanced folks have any ideas on that? I was thinking that if I put the fogger in a ceramic bowl, and cover it with a screen, that would do the...
