i got some polished rocks from homedepot in garden section to put in my plants to stop my veiled from digging. the other day i noticed two where in bottom of cage. i put back in plant. again they where in bottom of cage. i put web cam on him and saw that he would pull them out with his tounge...
here is a pic.
tub is removable for easy cleaning. i have since pic made screen to fit into tub to prevent Cham from drinking water from. not that i know he has but just in case. sorry pic is sideways forgot to edit before posting.
i can help you with a wood frame screen design. but to do it right it takes a few weeks. my 24x36x48, is built around the largest plastic tub i could find. it cost about $80.00 american dollars. i would have built a alum screen setup but i dont like the oxidation water causes on alum and they...
allright I got my first 25 dubia. i have 5 males and twenty females. they are about 2" long. I have seperated them into two groups. group 1 has 2 males and 4 females, in two double bucket setups like justincarl posted. the rest, 1 male 12 females. i have in standard tub to feed off. i have the...
best of luck. i have a weak spot for rescue Chams. mine had coccidia and i had to give him meds. it was torture for both of us, he barely ate, i got worried and could barely sleep. that is what i got for buying a cham from petsmart. they gave me a deal cause he was about to die. my feelings took...
my male veiled tripled in size in his 6th-7th month. he was eating 20 large crix a day and 1 or 2 silkies. he now only eats 5-6 crix and 2 supers. i dont think he is going to get much larger. his body is about 12" long nose to butt.
thanks, i will try. i got some from one of this forums members. it has alot of good stuff in it. i was having problem of large variety of organic fruits and veg going bad before i could use it all. now i just put a little in for moisture. mostly acorn squash, it takes a long time to dry up.
that sucks, i live in colo spgs, i am new to chams. i have many other reptiles though. two rescue ball pythons and more. i can understand you wanting someone experienced. if you cant find anyone else i could setup two more cages in about a week. i dont know about babies my veiled is male. but...
I found that the plastic bottle that the drink fuze comes in works great. it has ridges that keep exess powder from falling out. also a paper towel tube fits perfectly onto top(tube used to remove crickets from container). when done you can put lid back on and save remaining powder.
thanks, i think im gonna go with the dubia. since my Cham went through a bout with pin worms and coccodia, he will not eat out of cup. i have switched him to supers and silkies, crickets keep getting stuck in drainage system. my setup has tub at bottom 6" deep. im working on a screen that will...
what do you feed roaches in there inclosure? do they need water? if so can i use the same gel water i feed my crickets? are roaches easy to breed? I am trying to keep as many diff bugs as posible around. i am thinking of trying roaches. what is the best kind? some places have quite a few.
crickets and superworms are the easiest to gut load. silkworms are almost always a favorite. and roaches are the easiest to breed. all in all you should provide a variety of feeders. some chams are picky, they will only eat certain food. i would try a few differnt kinds and see what they like...
Update; today i was off work, i fed morken 3 supers and 5 crix, i also tricked him into drinking by pinning a crix to side screen with hemostats, then i wetted the crix when he tounged all he got was water. i finaly let criket go so he could catch. it seemed to work allright. his poo is back to...
i would try that but now he is eating,(free range only,)tonight i hand fed him one crix at a time. i set them on vines gradualy farther away. he went after them and ate them. i moved the drip system right by him and he started to drink. i think i will wait till he is a little heathier before i...
yes panacur also. i will look for that, is it powder or liquid? ive been putting calcium or vitamins on his few crickets that he eats. is that allright?
