My fiance found another one today, same size and just about the same spot!! Crazy, but I have them both inside a little cage I have, what do you think the chances are of a female/male and breeding??? Once they cocoon and hatch as moths of course!
That's the thing... I live right next to the desert on all sides and no tomato plants insight! I don't intend to feed it but yeah, I've never seen one with the red on the top either and horn does look funky! Any ideas?
Hello, has anyone ever seen a Hornworm this big?? My fiance found this outside when she was walking our dog. Mind you, we live in Phoenix in the Desert! This thing fully stretched was easily over 6." In the pic you can see its over 4.5." I told my fiance to grab it and maybe we could feed it to...
Thanks Erik! One of my friends is starting to get into chams and I might be giving him my little guy with the stub tail, but that means I may be interested in another one later on (possibility female) later on though... I'm thinking about trying my hands at breeding sometime in the future. How...
All has been well with them them. They are all awesome and gentle. Very easy going and extremely easy to care for. I have 3 of these little guys right now, but I have a friend who is interesting in getting into chameleons and I might be giving him one of my guys to get started.
I went through the same thing when I used live plants. I could never get rid of them. No matter what I tried, they kept coming back. I really think my problem was poor drainage though. I tried several remedies and never had any work so I just got rid of my live plants altogether.
I would feed daily. My plan is to cut back to every other day after they hit the 1 year mark. And I think you definitely have a boy on ur hands there! I have 3 little boys myself and all look the same as yours.
my ousties are a little bit smaller than you guys, but they are eating machines. My little ones are a little chubby! :D But mine will eat 5-7 dubia roaches (3/4-1"), 1-2 superworms (large 2") each per day.
Yeah, one of my guys was like that at first, as he got a little older he wasn't as much intimidated by them and now he can't get enough of them! Just give it time! My guys always snatch flies from outside with no issues, so I also wouldn't worry too much about that. The only possible issue to...
yeah, I will take a better pic in the morning. The breeder I got mine from said when they are young they like to have a lot of foliage, but all the adults he has had generally like plain branches to just hang out on.
Here is one of the cages for my juvi Oustie (The one in the back). Dimensions are about 3'x3'x5' for just one. I'm actually finalizing three outdoor cages for all of my ousties and they are about 4'x4x6' and once I get them finalized I will post some pics. Sorry the pic is bad, I don't have any...
I tried, with no success. I had adults laying eggs in sand/sphagnum mix and it was moist. I heating them around 90 degrees, and waited with no success. I waited about 14 days and then gave up
