In my experience and opinion, no. Misting just doesn't give the cham the ample time and quantity of water they need. You just cannot overwater a chameleon! Misting is important if you aren't providing ample humidity by use of a humidifier or other means, but for drinking a dripper is best...

Alambama (and the other southern states) have anoles, not true Old World chameleons. They're everywhere where I live, including in my house at times! LOL

Veiled chams are biurnal. They are awake and active during the day and sleep at night. Lights should be on 12-14 hours a day, then off for sleeping. Veileds actually do better with a temp drop at night, so unless your house is below 55F at night, she should be fine.
