So this has been my first time attempting a FR, and I've found myself switching it up quite a bit every couple days trying to eliminate some problems, but with every solution comes another problem. (I'm talking very small things - like water drainage from the drip system, and the water not...
Hello! I recently just bought my cham a purple wandering jew plant (of the hanging variety) and its been a few days now... as far as I have seen he hasn't even touched it to explore! And he's normally a very exploratory creature!
I was referencing this list to see whether or not the plants I...
Yeah... Ive done the aquatics thing for about 5 years now in 3 different tanks and it's actually almost stupid how intricate the balance has to be between species. People think it's the easiest thing to keep fish - and it is, if you keep ONE type of fish, but as soon as you start mixing them you...
Pet stores make me sad! :( They are so not good about keeping them humanely and in proper conditions until they are sold! And when the spot empties, another is put in to suffer... So for that reason, breeders are always the way to go! Be patient! And good luck with him/her when you get them!
The fifth photo you have in the red room is AMAZING! SUCH a good idea! I was trying to develop an idea for a hanging version of a FR, but the plants that I have wouldn't fit well with it! Thank you for sharing!!
Beautiful! Are you cup feeding or setting the insects free? You'll have to look at how you are going to mount a cup to one of the walls of the cage if that is the way you are going! Otherwise it looks awesome! :)
Okay, so there's lots on google about breeding silkworms, and hornworms, and all that. But as I live in an apartment, I'm looking to see what crazy tricks you guys might have come up with for keeping them as moths while they are laying eggs. I can't exactly keep them in a tuberware container...
Day 1 of me having him (I had to pick him up out of the box I was given to transport him to his cage - he stayed on my hand long enough for a quick picture and then I didn't touch him or put my hands near him for 3 weeks! No biting my head off!)
This was honestly the most helpful post/reply I have found since searching this site!!! THANK YOU! I find it so hard to find non-sketchy sources for reptile stuff in Canada! It's sad that some of those links are no longer live or are inactive though! But thanks again!! <3
Oh geesh! No! Wesley is only in the same room as him when I am there, and even then he stays on the floor while I'm on a stool cleaning the cage that is 5ish ft off the ground. lol Thank you for the link and the welcome!
As a minor side note... is there any way to "track" the posts that you...
Okay, so the title doesn't tell much. But what I'm wondering is if it's natural/common for the Veileds to constantly try to go near the lamps? (Close enough to touch?) Does it mean they are too cold? Just want to be up higher? Or are they deficient in that type of lighting?
I've tried...
Hello there!
I've spent 3 or four months being redirected to these forums after googling many questions I had about getting my first Veiled, and am very impressed with this community! Now after I have gotten him (still way too excited!) and have had some more questions that have popped up as...
