Mine is Verde (green), after watching his color develop into very vibrant greens I though it was perfect. I was able to use his colors to name him because I got him when he was already about 4 months old "ish"
Since Verde enjoys being out and will head for me when I get near his home I get him out at least once a day, unless he ignores me. Lately only every other day.
I will have to check out butterworms. I don't think I can deal with dubias, lol. Like those that are creeped out by crickets I fall under the creeped out by dubias (too close to roaches for my comfort). Thanks all for the suggestions.
So after caring for my Verde since Thanksgiving my very picky eater has gone back for thirds this morning (unheard of).
When I first got Verde I was given some not so great advice from the place I purchased him and his diet was mealworms and the ocassional cricket. He would eat the mealworms...
I just wanted to send out a quick kudos to one of the forum's sponsors. I ordered silkworms and phoenix worms for the first time, since I can't get them locally, from Mulberry Farms. I have to say "Wow" they have some of the best customer service I have come across when ordering anything online...
Verde is about 10-11 months old, I think. He has taken up getting on top of his cage door when I open it to feed him or clean his cage. You can see a better idea of his cage in my avitar. He actually lives in my library (I have addressed concerns of this in other posts). He has come a long way...
I just had that happen Friday, myself. My veiled decided the floor looked like a great place to visit and took a leap. He darkened up for a minute and then decided all was fine. I expected to see some bruising...but as of yet none. So apparently it was worse for me than for him, but it did scare...
This post shows the pictures I took of Verde when I first got him in November.

This is him today! I was amazed today when I uploaded my pics and saw the huge changes in him. I am so glad he looks the way he does today. :D
My first is a veiled. I have always wanted one and I just love the look of the veiled...very dinosaur-like. I had also heard they are a bit more forgiving when it comes to raising.
Love Verde and always on the lookout for ways to spoil him like I do the 3 furry members of my family.
