If you want to be a little different go with the Ambanja. Ambilobes are probably the most common panther because they have the widest range of coloring, but I've seen some very stunning Ambanjas.
Interesting question. I guess someone would have to acutally identify the type of catapillar/moth to know if it was toxic. I occasionally feed wild caught moths that gravitate to lights in the backyard and haven't had any problems. I would figure that a catapillar/moth that feeds on non-toxic...
How old is the male? I find that veiled males are pretty aggressive up though about 2 years old. I had an ultra aggressive male that I tried to breed at a little over a year and he attacked the lady, though not to the extreme that yours did. He's about 2 now and has calmed down considerably.
