Haha thats exactly my problem. I went through 100 small crickets in a few days lmao. Like i said he doesnt even chew them. I figure medium would be okay. Probably more fun/rewarding for him to hunt anyway. Plus they wont fit under my water collection bin at the bottom like the small ones do :p
Im sure his has been asked a million tImes but i cant find the thread.
My cham is about 3 months old. Right now im feeding him small crickets. He devours them. Hardly has to chew. Would medium crickets be too big?
I have tried cup feeding a few times but he just runs and hides as soon as i put the cup in. I think its because hes only been here 10 days now. Ill give him another week or so and try again
Ill give that a try. The issue is he doesn't usually eat right away. Most of the time he just watches them for an hour before he makes his first move. So by that point the crickets have already found their hiding spot. I think my best bet would be to prevent them from getting to the bottom. Just...
I assume by riser you mean like a screen platform? Do they sell these or do you think they made them custom? Im going to need to invest in one. That would make cleaning much easier since id be able to empty the water with out the bugs getting out
Hello again, ive had my cham for a little over a week now. And have been noticing that my monsoon misting sytem seems to scare the living hell out of him. Right now i have it to run for about 2 minutes 4 times a day. My question is, how often and how long is the minimum i should mist him. I do...
Heres a update on my buddy henrik. Hes startIng to settle in! Its been just over a week now and he is exploring much more and hiding a lot less. Heres a pic
Im not sure if this applies to chams. But my iguanas used to react the same in the sun. They would turn black and puff up. I did some research and found that they do this to absorb as much sunlight as they can(the dark colors absorb more heat and a big flat surface does the same). After an hour...
I cant say for sure but i would assume that as long as the cage was fairly clean he should be okay. I would also think that putting him in the proper cage with good ventilation would clear up a mild infection. I would just try and keep him as hydrated as possible as it helps thin any mucus he...
Sorry wont let me post the pic again because i just posted it elsewhere. If you check this thread you will see it. https://www.chameleonforums.com/first-cham-enclosure-143321/
Heres a pic of my pothos hangin on the right hand side. I used a spool of thick plastic string to hang the pot from the frame of the enclosure. My cham loves it, i also use it as his "drinking plant" and have the dripper and mister aiming at it
I didnt have much luck with foggers when i had my iguanas. They work best in a glass enclosure. For my cham i use a monsoon misting system that runs 4 times a day. And a "my little dripper" that i let run during daytime so that theres is always at least one spot that has drinking water...
I had thought of that and have put that vine hanging at the bottom directly into the pan so theres a way out. I also make sure to empty it daily so there isnt enough water to drown him in. And thanks for the heads up about the temps. I have a "slider" from an iguana i use to keep so i can adjust...
I use one of those aluminum pand they use to cook turkeys. Its nice and deep holds alot of water and takes up just about the entire bottom of my enclosure. Cost me 1.99 at a dollar store
I dont have much experience since ive only had my cham for a few days. However when i first got him i only had a mister set up. I ran it 4 times a day and he didnt seem to understand to drink from the leaves. I got concerned and got a dripper and he immediately ran over to it and drank like he...
Hey every. My names alex. I just got my first cham from flchams and couldnt be more excited. Just wanted to get a little insite. I attatched a picture of his enclosure and just wanted to make sure it looks functional. I have a live pothos and some fake exo terra plants and vines. A monsoon...
