yeah I feel bad giving tap water to the cham as well as my dog, they get water from our own drinking water reserve (bottled spring water) most of the time. Our tap water here is horrible I find it tastes and smells like pool water (okay maybe a bit of exageration) and gives me itchy/dry skin...
interesting read on dog foods... http://en.allexperts.com/q/Labrador-Retrievers-2374/raising-labrador-retriever-puppy.htm
(I'm not sure what the original source is for that test but I've seen it copy/pasted on many sites/forums)
You have a very good looking pup there and I must say I...
I don't see how you can say MH is overkill... 250w may be overkill, 14000k is overkill (that's bluish light for aquarium setups), something like 70w or 150w with a bulb that has a color temp resembling that of the high noon sun (between 5000k and 6000k is your best bet I think) is probably one...
yeah you do pretty much need two timers... there are timers with two outlets that have memory for like 20 on/off settings, but I've yet to find one where you can set each outlet for different times
looks great (gotta love that wood look) and looks very well built! interesting water evacuation system as well, does all the water run straight to the funnel? looks very efficient, let us know how it holds up
very nice!! I'm really liking that 3 door idea so you don't have to open the whole thing depending on what you're doing in the cage.
and there's nothing quite like nice natural wood grain to add some warmth to a room, you must be proud to have that on display (I know I would!), especially...
some people (like myself) also set the heat lamp to come on shortly after the uvb tube in the morning and turn off shortly before the uvb tube at night to mimic a 'heating up' and a 'cooling down' period like the sunrise/sunset
be warned the 10.0 I tried put out a very blue light...kind of ugly in my opinion, though I think it was a reptiglo, but boths brands of 10.0 must put out a blu-ish tinted light. I quickly returned it and got a reptisun 5. The 5.0 is more of a natural white light, the box says it has a color...
Yep mine does this too every once in a while. For some reason he always does it to the same branch, at the same spot of the branch. It's a thin vine like branch, and everytime I see him do it he actually bites off a tiny piece of bark and eats it. Very thin bark though and no impaction or other...
yeah take everyone's advice and don't pick him up while he sleeps lol... must be extremely stressful for the animal.
and for waking him because of the light in the room, mine is in the computer room so if I'm gonna use the pc after he's sleeping I make sure to throw a blanket or two over the...
ah ok thanks, yeah I'd read about the spinach and broccoli, just never the tomatoes, so does that put them in the 'questionable' list of veg for human consumption also?
what is it that makes the tomatoes so bad? anyone have any article links that further explain this? just curious cause I don't remember ever hearing/reading about this... not that I feed my insects tomatoes or anything(), actually it's a good thing I read this before ever making that mistake I...
very nice animals! nice cage too, can you tell me how you got that 'seamless finish' look with the screen installation? (I can't see how/where the screen is actually held down)
not sure, it really depends on the individual animal I guess, they definately CAN bite you, they say veileds are known to be more savage than panthers and I've experienced it first hand, when feeding a friends female veiled she would puff up and hiss like crazy and one time I got too close and...
the main reason that everyone recommends zoomed's reptisuns over exo terra's reptiglos is because of the results obtained from testing found here: http://www.uvguide.co.uk/fluorescenttuberesults.htm
and according to their results... zoomed produces a superior bulb
looks good, i love the expression from his eyes in the 2nd pic lol! reminds me of a kid seeing a giant lolly pop for the first time,
and yeah either give him some time to settle in and become used to seeing your hand when you clean/mist/hand feed him, or try to fool him with the stick trick...
haha yeah they got all sorts of crap, that's where i found my computer, tv, a dresser, live bugs, and a job ...lol
if bells corners is considered nepean then you're probably pretty close actually
I have his exact adress somewhere in my email I can try to dig it up, that way you can google...
dunno where you are in the city but he's around prince of whales and fisher i think, maybe you could bus there if it's close, and I'm sure you have buddies or parents who will taxi you for 5$ of gas lol, and if not, you can always try asking him to deliver, he might add on 2-3$ to the price but...
if you want large quantities go with canadian silkworms, for small-medium I buy from this guy http://www.usedottawa.com/classified-ad/4554778&category=exotic-pets
i'm located in aylmer on the quebec side and I get most of my stuff from him, except when I need a few quick crickets and don't...
someone from another forum took a trip and posted some cool photos of chameleons and some other critters that he spotted, figured everybody likes to see pictures of our pets in the wild
