I don't know about best as it's a matter of personal opinion, but the most common are definately schefflera arboricola, ficus benjamina, and pothos. (forgot latin name for this one)
They are the big 3 you see the most in people's cages.
Yeah I would definately take a drive down to your nearest CT to check it out in person. The site doesn't even say what type of bulb it takes. (unless I'm blind?) and you don't want to order it online thinking it takes fluorescent tubes and then realize it takes these...
^lol, I think he probably called it that because he's going to keep the thread going as he works on the cage.
anyways looks good so far, but, are you sure it's only 2.5' tall or was that a typo? (judging by the pics it's not going to be a cube shaped cage)
actually there were some isle of saint-marie babys at the place when I bought my ambanja. This was in Canada so I'd expect the US has at least some crawling around.
as for la reunion, I'm pretty sure I remember reading on the euro/french forum tanalahy.com that they were introduced to that...
looks very clean, but wow 650!! What was the price of only the goods before they smacked you with the duty fees and taxes? Just curious as I've never really ordered anything from the states yet... do the fees/taxes varie according to weight of the package? size of the package? value of the...
un autre tanalahyien ^^, wow tous des très belle bêtes et des belles photos, j'adore les couleures sur l'Ankify, ca ressemble quand même assez aux ambanjas, mais jsuppose que c'est normal vu la distance entre les deux
Well it's your call but do a bit of googling and you'll see all the negative articles about those things and air fresheners in general. It's pretty well known that they are full of chemicals and can have bad effects the respiratory system. (especially in the long term)
I mean after all you are...
You should really reconsider, alot of us are in canada and have screen cages, and I don't think humidity is that big of an issue with veileds as long as he's drinking and getting regular mistings. I don't know where you're located but I doubt it's THAT dry in your house... no desert climate...
not sure I understand the question... Is he eating the mylar? (probably not)
or are you asking because your basement/his territory is covered in mylar wall to wall and you're wondering if it's bad for him at all? If so, the fact that it is reflective might be comparable to the stress...
hehe yeah that one is pretty amazing looking, that exact picture is what made me want a panther chameleon so bad... I remember it being on the first page of google images
and Wow strong resemblance for only being a great grand son!! Todnedo something tells me you're gonna make a sale not long...
hmm that is weird looking, my panther does have some runny/gelly droppings once in a while when he has been drinking alot and is having big amounts of silkworms, but nothing with that amount of 'gel'. I know nothing about deremensis but assuming it is a wild caught animal, could this be parasite...
He may just prefer the color of light it produces, I assume the basking bulb is just a standard home light bulb so probably puts off a very orange light. The grow lights probably put off a much more natural sun type of light and seeing that you have 2 of them in one fixture, he must favor that...
interesting read about the +/- of reverse osmosis and distilled water, although they seem to be favoring distillers (probably because they sell them), they bring up some interesting (and most likely debatable) negative points about the RO process...
you said he was thirsty and he drank as soon as you got him, is it possible that during this drinking session he inhaled a bit of water or got a bit into his airways?
This happened to my chameleon once and wow it scared the hell out of me I was certain he was gonna die. He started drinking...
Well I'm definately no vegetarian but I do stay away from porc, beef (unless it's locally farmed quality meat) and all processed meats like deli/cold cuts. I'm not a big fan of milk either, I favor almond or rice milk and sometimes soy (there are so many controversial articles on soy products...
must be the same storm hittin us here in eastern canada cause we're getting a good whack of snow right now too, they were calling for like 50cm over the course of one or two days, I heard on the radio that it's a record breaking year for the capital region and last time we've had so much snow...
