Oooooh! I rarely read fiction, unless my husband insists. How To Be a Woman by Caitlin Moran is utterly amazing, I'm very shy and I actually lol'd in public when reading it.
I'm currently reading smutty erotica (no, not that junk), so won't share that.
Eating Animals is pretty awesome for...
I've fed them to my Ivy, she's 8 months and she loves them. I watched carefully the first couple of times and she had no trouble at all. I haven't offered her the fully grown worms yet, they just seem too monstrous, but the moths she takes down. She's a runt too, but is catching up to regular...
I've made this offer on the other Sandy threads, but I'm more than happy to have any caged animals here too. I'm in Lower Westchester, we got our power back on Thursday evening. My husband is allergic to pretty much everything, but we have a huge warm basement. I have a car and can meet somewhere.
I just showed those pics to my girls and we all just squeed ourselves hoarse...
I know he's not a toy... but could you post a pic of him on your ear? It would make my WEEK. And maybe on a fork. Ooh! Riding a hornworm!
This is why I don't trust myself with babies...
Karina, I'm so sorry you lost him after spending so long with him. 5 years is a really good age for a chameleon, I really hope you can hang about on the forum and share some of the things you learned with him.
Those photos are stunning, the devastation is horrific. I'm in Lower Westchester and the majority of homes in our village are still without power. Glad your scaly guys are okay, happy to offer help if there's anything I can do.
Lys, I know for balls it goes by weight, and they recommend food slightly wider than the widest part of the snake. Big Cheese just call theirs S/M/L/XL I think. I usually feed mine a day or two after she gets really active, was once a week 6 months ago, now she's a year it's twice a week because...
I'm in Lower Westchester, we got our power back last night. I have plenty of outlets, space and time if anyone needs chameleon or other reptile sitting for a while.
We have power! Santi, where on LI are you? Happy to meet somewhere and cham-sit until you get sorted?
Anyone else local need any help? I have power and plenty of space, and plenty of time to care.
I'm so relieved we have power, we are in the minority in the village, and in most of...
Just found out we should get our power back on around the 11th-12th November. I really do need to sort out something for my scaly babies! Can Ivy do without UVB until then or should I rig something up? Trying to think of a workable way to set up a FR or good-sized enclosure near one of the two...
Thank you! She took down an even chunkier hornworm before resisting all my attempts to warm her up. Hopefully she had enough heat to help her digest. I put the dragon in my bra pouch for a bit to help him out, and gave him a warm bath and a manicure. Couldn't persuade him to eat anything, but...
Gave her a fairly chunky hornworm, which she was pleased to see! Held her close for a while, which she was less impressed about, but I couldn't bear to see her black any more.
She's chilling in some flowers in a vase at the moment, figure even daylight through glass is going to help keep her...
Less easy when they are on cute fuzzies and hoppers! My yearling ball python has already outgrown the fuzzies I bought when she was 6 months, they are just snacks! Need to get back to Big Cheese and order some hoppers.
She hasn't been fed in almost a week, she's 8 months. I'm hand-misting at the moment. I wish she liked physical security as much as my burrowing snake and dragon, I'd happily add her to my bra pouch!
Tomorrow will be the third day with no power to Ivy. I am very reluctant to move the whole enclosure, but we do have partial power to the house. I'm tempted to put a plant in the bathroom so she can warm up under the lights and hopefully be tempted to eat something.
Would this be best or can...
