    Chameleon at an animal shelter

Hello my darlings! I've been gone a while, but all is good. I've started volunteering at a local animal shelter, and a male panther was brought in recently. They're doing a good job, considering they have no experience with anything but cats and dogs. I'm going back on Tuesday but would love...

Poking a hole in a super worm?

The head ran off... oh my gods... I think I would actually just die. I fed my Rankins a sun beetle larvae and he ate the butt then left the head to wiggle about. Why are our beautiful lizards torturing us so much??

Official Enclosure Picture Thread #2 - post your pics!

Nice setup SS! Having the pothos on the ground is interesting. Mine hangs in the centre and is a nuisance when I try to put small trees in there, it never looks right. I'd love more live plants in there though, if only to give the tiny spite ball more options for egg-laying. Killed my second...

Official Enclosure Picture Thread #2 - post your pics!

I haven't posted in ages, I'm sorry! I still have to come here and check on stuff though, most recently drainage ideas. We moved house a couple of weeks ago, this is Ivy's current setup. I added some artificial grass today, it makes it look so much nicer! The lower half is bare, fairly...

    Hornworms (The Horn)

No, it's just a soft little thing, no big deal!

would it be ok to do this?

You poor thing. It does sound like a difficult situation. It's so good to hear that you get on so well with his mother usually though. How far through the 6 months are you? Seems like you've got a good idea to compromise going on, with getting a timer for the lights etc. Doesn't sound like she's...

    Bug Crazy

I had to cut down, too many feeders to keep up with! Hubby doesn't object, but mostly only because he pretends there aren't boxes of roaches and worms in our kitchen... Not ideal, but it's the easiest place to keep them so I remember to chuck kitchen scraps in there!

    Baby silkworms.

Good luck! They are super fun, but tricky little sods.

gurr- my silkworms are not listening

Chucking leaves in is the best thing! Moving them once they've started can cause problems too. They're just a highly nutritious pain in the ***! The fuzzy moths are so super cute too... I never managed enough moths at once to breed them, but it's pretty simple. Poor Olive, she's got so many...

gurr- my silkworms are not listening

They usually have a limited amount of silk reserves, so if they start out too wide they can run out. I leave them, because I'm a softie, but they don't tend to make it, usually.

Ivy's planning to be a pig for Halloween

Thank you! For a ball of pink spite, she does have the occasional sweet moment!

gurr- my silkworms are not listening

Yep, I'm with Spork, wait until they're done spinning, then you can pick them off and put them somewhere sensible. Mine ignored the tubes and mostly soon in the lid of whatever container I put them in... But we know silkies go out of their way to be high maintenance!

    Michaels 50% plants

I got a garland from Michaels that is a plastic chain with buxus-like leaves coming off it, because I was worried about the garlands that had more papery stems.
