I'll be there. I'm only going to load up on crickets, supers, hornworms, and fruit fly media to make new cultures. I love the cooler weather Hamburg shows. It's those mid-summer shows in the fieldhouse that get unbearable.
Sounds good. You wont miss me... just look for the guy with a wheelbarrow full of crickets, superworms, hornworms, and fruitflies. Time to stock up for the wintertime :)
I was seriously thinking about going to this, but with Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping to do I decided against it. I'll just wait a week and go to the Hamburg show on the 4th.
I actually shouldn't have called them oats. Part of the substrate is oats, but it's actually the dry gutload that I use from the recipe on the melleri discovery. It's got a bunch of stuff in the dry gutload like powdered milk, grape nuts, and stuff like that. I usually just call it the oats. I...
I use quick oats as a substrate. The tub I have them in is quite big, so I usually spread out fruits and vegetables on the top of the substrate. On really slow boring days I watch the worms come up out of the oats to eat. Sometimes they devour everything in short order, but I'll remove...
Last time I ordered from them I placed the order on a Wednesday and received them the following Wednesday. I did place the order late in the day. I pretty much knew I wasn't going to get them until the following week, and when the order arrived everything was good and healthy.
Every once in a while my supermarket will put out some. I grabbed one there last year. The supermarket also has really nice pothos most of the time too. So that could be a different place to check.
I've never shipped out anything via Ups, so this may be a really dumb question, but does Ups make you put the weight of the package anywhere before printing the label? It seems to me there would be a pretty big difference in the weight of the package when it was sent out by you and the weight of...
I use a 5 gallon container with an aquarium heater. It's been keeping the water warm enough so when the water comes out of the nozzle its warmish. I'm looking into an inline heater to bump the temp up a bit.
A surprise added benefit to the warm bucket of water is when I have a cricket get out...
I got my mist king right after I got my first mellers chameleon last year and quickly realized how tired my arms got spraying the amount of water they actually needed all day.
That and when the Habba Mist I had turned on for the first time and scared the heck out of the chameleons. That thing...
You're going to love the mist king. I have the seconds timer and it is a godsend. But one of the reasons I went with mist king, and as many others here can attest to, the customer service is outstanding. You'll have no worries with it.
I had the same problem last year. I did end up getting a small generator. It's invaluable for the times the power goes out in the winter and summer. It's set up so the lights in the chameleon cages, snake tanks, and my poison dart frog tank can be turned on/off. Purchasing one at first can hurt...
Ok thanks. It makes me feel better knowing it's not abnormal or anything like that. I guess I'm just being overprotective.
Pssh - Yea I forgot to mention its a w/c. Wow 250g? I guess mine has a way to go then.
Your Chameleon - Mellers chameleon, unknown age/sex. Purchased 10/16/10.
Handling - Handled only for inspection of chameleon and weighing.
Feeding - Feeding crickets, superworms, silkworms, and dubia. On occasion a hornworm or two. Usually 6-8 feeders a day, sometimes a few more. I'm...
