:D Thanks, all!
Sunspot, the pastel BP, is actually a rescue with an amazing story. Basically, he was given to me at the pet store (literally - the guy just said he's yours and walked away) in absolutely horrid condition. Dehydrated, constipated, emaciated, and with what looked like broken...
Thank you. Her name is Freya...and it fits her. :)
As for the Advil... that's a size comparison. As is the money with the corn snakes. :) Pretty soon I'll be using coke cans with the bigger BPs.
Well, I don't have the new Cham to post pictures of...so until I can get him I'll show you all my other herps! (Some pics are recent, but others are a bit old)
First, the Ball Pythons:
Hera (F normal)
Zeus (M normal)
Celeste (F Het Albino)
Achilles (M Het Albino)
Nagini...
Ah, the face behind the name thread. :) Always a must.
I have to warn you...I do not look good in pictures.
Here be the most recent shot of me, taken June 08:

Oh, that kitty face is CUTE!! So is the ferret.
Magnus is a very pretty boy...I always loved those retic orange eyes. And that clutch was great odds! Congrats on that. I want that pewter ;)
I don't have nearly as many critters anymore (once had 27 assorted animals), but I do have 13...
Hey Mel! There you are. :) (we know each other from the snake forum we're on).
Nice looking cage you have for him, but yeah...get a tube UV light ASAP and place some nice vines or branches up near the top for him.
Good to see you here. :)
Thanks for all the great advice. :) My issue now is what to put in the huge cage to fill it in until my plants are bigger. I also don't have much money to spend on more plants since my Cham EQ budget is pretty much used up.
I think I will still get that live Ficus, but that still leaves quite...
I use timer strips similar to the crappy dial type, but they're digital:
http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2752178
They work a lot better than the dials, and even though they do have to be reset and go through a 24hr cycle before timing again, just changing the 'mode' to on...
Hmm... I'll check with Chad and see if this guy is big on leaves. Regardless, I'll make sure any fake stuff is very strong. I don't like the 'cheap stuff' as it is, since it looks so obviously fake. :)
It's only for a short while, until the real plants 'grow up'. And, all things considered, I...
I've looked, but didn't see anything like this. Is there a deterrent, such as bitter spray or a flavor type, that can be put on fake leaves to prevent Veiled chams munching on them by mistake?
I ask because, although I have live plants they are still rather small and my cage is rather large...
:) Once I get back into the swing of classes, and my BF shakes off the flu he caught, I'll be able to finally finish that cage!
Once it's done, rest assured you guys will be slammed with pictures. :D
Ooo...nice ghost. :) Where do you live? It would be cool to arrange a breeder loan with her and my big ghost male:
He's in shed in that first picture, so he's a lot lighter than that. :) And the one with my BF holding him is about 4-6 months old...so he's grown.
May you have great times...
I know that geckos go CRAZY for phoenix worms... but everyone I've spoken to about feeding them to chams has said they ignore them or only eat a few. Apparently, even the large size isn't big enough to appear as good food to them.
Well, I'll see if my guy will eat them occasionally since I'll...
Oh? Always eh? You must know people who have very bad memories or loose tops to their enclosures. :)
I have 14 snakes, 6 of which are corns, and NO ONE has ever escaped. Oh, they've tried of course, since corns are masters of escape, but have not yet succeeded in a variety of enclosures and I...
:) Well, I went ahead and got the stupid $43 one from Petsmart. I know it would have been cheaper to get a direct wire and adapt it to a cord...but I don't know anyone who can do electrical work! As it is, I'm having to mail off the Ranco thermostat I got from someone on another forum to Rich at...
I saw the 18" ones... but they don't have any for 24". It's the SIZE that's been the problem. I have two 18" fixtures and two ReptiGlo 10.0 18" bulbs as well, but one is being used by my BTS. Since the cage I built is 28x28x48, I want to use a 24" bulb with him to get max coverage. I have the...
Hmm, I've been through Lowes and Home Depot many times at different stores and they don't carry 24" corded T8 fixtures anymore. In fact, they don't carry anything larger than T5 now with the cord!
And I tried WalMart - no go there as well. :( And LLL has it, but with shipping it's the same...
Ok, I've looked and looked am at wits end here! Where do all of you get your lamps/fixtures for the UV fluorescent bulbs??
I got a pair of 24" Repti-Glo 10.0 bulbs, new, for free from a friend and those are T8. I've looked all over but all I've found are Direct Wire fixtures! It...
