Thanks... and I'm sorry you couldn't take it as well.
I know I went overboard when building this cage, which is why it's so much larger than your typical cham enclosure. But what can I say, I like spoiling my animals. :)
I really hope to get some more local interest in this cage, as I need...
Update
Ok, since I can't edit the first post list of supplies I'll put in the new list here.
The cage with stands is still available, asking $110 OBO
- 1 8.5" Flukers dome clamp lamp with 75w bulb $8
- 1 8.5" 'Deluxe Arizona' dimmer clamp lamp with 100w bulb $15
- 18" florescent fixture...
For all you snake owners out there! :D
I have a handmade 3-slot rack, constructed with stud 2x4s and hardboard with exterior grade ply shelves, painted with a double coat of Rust-Olium latex based white paint for protection.
This rack comes with 3 90qt Sterilite tubs, but does not...
Ok, I really need to sell this cage!! I will now consider ANY reasonable offer for it, and am looking into possible ways to take it apart for easier transport without ruining it. It's still too big to ship, though. :(
Also, I have the remaining supplies (branches, mist system, lights, etc.)...
For the big homemade cage itself, I was looking to get $120. The supplies have their own prices, which I can give over PM depending on what you're looking for. :) And I accept offers so nothing is set in stone.
Well, now that my veiled cham is off to his new home I have to sell his cage and supplies.
The cage itself is 3' long, 2' wide, and 5' tall. It was made with stud 2x3s, painted with a latex based in/outdoor paint in Hunter Green, and patio grade screen. 3 strong poles run lengthwise at the...
Ok, he is now at his new home. :)
We had quite a time getting him out of his cage here...apparently he was really attached to the cage. He flared up, puffed, hissed like crazy, and even fell at one point trying to get away (he was just fine and took off right after hitting the floor). But we...
It is official! Jenn and I talked last night (boy, there's a kindred spirit if I ever found one! :D) and she's coming over Saturday to pick Morpheus up!!
He has a new and very good home! :D:D:D
Thanks to everyone who offered to care for him, gave condolences, or especially offered to take...
Well, I'm having to sell it and re-home my cham due to income issues... but here is the cage I built:
3"x2"x5" actual cage footprint, 85" tall total setup.
Sorry I haven't seen these posts...
That is the sweetest offer, Juli and BocaJan! Yes, he's still here and was being a silly boy as I tried to get pictures this evening. He kept sliding to the side of the vine he was on to get away from the camera. :)
nystromj has offered to take him, but...
:) I asked Brad already.
Here is some clarification - I need to totally re-home him, so I'm looking for a permanent new owner. If anyone in Colorado, or someone who knows someone here, can take him that would be preferable to avoid shipping.
I am very sad. We've had our income cut in half suddenly, so I can't keep the sweet male veiled I just got.
He's 8 months old from TikiTiki Reptiles, one of Julirs' Leon line I believe. Very calm and laid back for a veiled, he's also fairly large for his age. I would prefer not to ship him...
I hear the OP on the frustration bit. :) Even when you have read up for years, made sure the equipment you have is right, have a great cage, set it all up in advance and all that...you STILL find a dozen things that either need to be done differently, need to be fixed, tweaked, etc.! It can be...
First and only Cham - 8 month old male veiled from TikiTiki. :) He's awesome, but the stress of keeping everything going is driving me nuts.
When folks say chams are hard to keep...what they should say is that their equipment is hard to keep!!
With chameleons - absolutely no experience. This new veiled guy is the first I've ever owned...and it makes me quite nervous.
With other herps, though - plenty of experience. :) I also own 12 snakes and a BTS right now, and have had other reptiles in the past. This is why I decided to take...
Well, it's been a long time since I had cats (BF is allergic) but here are some pics of a few of my sweeties from long ago:
This is Harlequin aka Harley. Female Long haired calico. Gorgeous but mean to everyone but me.
This is Tangerine aka Tangie. Female Orange tabby. She was the...
