The dude needs to man up a little. Step up and don't be such a sissy, really he is afraid of a lizard that he lives with? Seems like a big headache for you when he is going to be around.
I bought my guy some blue bottle flies and he loves them! Problem is that is all he seems to want to eat now, have not seen him eat a cricket or horn worm since the flies came into his life. Do I just need to do tuff love and cut him off the flies? Will he go back to the staples after he gets...
I have not got any bees around yet, tons of wasp, but they seem really big and nasty. Have you ever tried wasp? I also see people who feed bees with the stinger intact, have you ever done that? Just wonder if it is safe, sorry for all the questions.
Just to let you know it is working but I have never really seen a reptile do anything like that? I wonder if it could be a mouth issue? Pain or sore that he is trying to relieve? Good luck.
I am fairly new to this, see please correct me if i am wrong. I have an approx. 12 month old male Jackson's. After reading this it would appear to me that a MVL would be a better choice than the standard 5.0 UVB light and 40 watt basking light? Seems like the UVB output is much better with the...
Try a humidifier. Get a decent one ( I like the 45.00 model at Walgreens) and run good water threw it, I use distilled water, doesn't leave residue and is cheap. Put it on a timer and run it for a hour every two hours and it will keep your humidity at a good level and offer another water source...
Where are they doing the shows these days? I grew up in the Cleveland area and used to go to the shows when I lived in that area. I am in Indianapolis these days, we have a good bi-monthly show here but not much in the way of shops that are any good. Enjoy the show my buckeye friends.
I would like to try some feeder walking sticks or mantis bugs. I don't know if walking sticks are legal in the US? All the dealers seem to be in the UK. What are the best variety of mantis or walking sticks to use as feeders. My guy has no interest in any worms so I thought this might be a good...
I have a one year old male Jackson's who will only eat crickets! I want to get him to eat Dubia, super worms, what ever else is available but he shows no interest. Any ideas to try to vary his diet some more?
My jackson does great on the bottle feeder. Also I dont have to worry/wonder if he is getting the food. Not very nice to look at, I want to make one that is not so ugly.
I have a year old male Jackson. He eats his crickets well but I hate the smell and noise and mess of crickets. I have tried roaches which he will take one and then he is done. Last few times he won't even eat one. Any suggestions for making this transition.
I have had a older male Jackson's that didn't eat for several days when I first got him. I have now had him 6 weeks and he is very regular. He likes to eat early in the morning from a hanging feeder cup, will still eat later sometimes, especially any escaped crickets. So get into a routine...
I would much rather give my hard earned money to local bait shops than to the big box pet stores. Plus I LOVE fishing and I am in the bait shops all the time anyhow.
Here is my feeder, it is a little ugly for my taste, I need to fine tune it, but it works. He should be feed daily, a day off ocassionally is good. but he should want to eat and have food available almost daily. How old is he? Hope this helps,
