contridicting info on breeding horn worms

A rainbow might work but gutter gaurd sags pretty easy. I would personally just wrap it around the edges of whatever container you are using.

contridicting info on breeding horn worms

Sounds like your problem was just that you did not have something for the moth to climb up on. They all emerge with seemingly short wings. They need to be able to stretch their wings. I personally use screen wrapped around their container. I also use slightly damp coconut coir for them to burrow...

    deremensis Hatching!

Just an update and more pics. All 45 babies are 2-3 weeks old, and have grown a lot. They are eating fruit flies, 1/8" crickets, and hornworms.

    Dark coloration on hornworm

This is exactly what I think it is. If your hornworms are running low on food, or the cup is to crowded and one cannot reach food, they will bite and try to eat each other. This is probably just a bite mark. I would feel safe feeding it to my chameleons.

First baby bin... What do you think?

I have about 6 fruit fly cultures per week set aside for my 45 deremensis. I have just been using repashy superfly for now, it produces extremely well. Anyway the cost is around $.75 per culture. Carls' way is even cheaper, if you have the time. There are fruit fly recipes all over on frog...

First baby bin... What do you think?

Hey, colorado people! Lpsouth, shoot me a pm when these are getting close to hatching and I can help you out on the insects. I raise all my own fruit flies, hornworms, roaches, and soon to be crickets. I can at the very least give you some pointers to keep cost down. Good luck!
