Here is a close up photos of white springtails (they come in many colors and some different shapes). The photos has adults and young. I actually culture them for my dart frogs and they are great for the soil. They actually eat fungus. Normally they crawl around, but they do hop if disturbed.
I know this sounds crazy, but crickets seem to be attracted to power strips. When they get loose, I find many of them huddled around the power strip that all my computer components are plugged in to. It makes it easier to catch them.
Zoey is still doing well and I actually caught her drinking the other day. She'll be two weeks old tomorrow, so I'll get some more photos posted.
It's very exciting! :D
I have the following unpaired trioceros:
T. hoehnelli aaltegonis female
T. montium male
T. pfefferi male
I also have an unpaired male B. stumpfi
I am getting a male quadricornus from Laurie and I'd love to get a female from another bloodline.
In the interest of getting the...
She was actually the only surviving egg. Emma layed some of the eggs on the bottom of the enclosure and they dried before I got to them and the rest were infertile. Emma did much better with her second clutch. She used the laying bin and I have 30 good eggs cooking and only lost a couple...
Great point! I feel dumb not thinking of it. :o I haven't seen any, but she perches over the potted plant and would poop in the soil. I could cover the soil with tissue or something and try to catch the poop.
Here are some pictures of little Zoey at one week Saturday morning. I'm pretty sure she is a she :). My only concern is that I haven't seen her eat or drink. I have plenty of food available - ffs, pinhead crickets and dwarf white isopods. I also mist regularly and drip warm water on the...
I know this is a long shot, but I received a pair of hoehnelli aaltegonis from the recent Ugandan import and lost the male within two days. Now I have a lone female. I was wondering if anyone has a spare male you'd be willing to sell.
Thanks
My ambilobe pair (both Kammer-line): Emma (sire is Noki, grandsire is Iron Man) and Nolan (sire is Line Drive), produced their first clutch of 25 eggs last summer, but due to my inexperience, I was only able to save one viable egg. Well, nearly 10 months later this little guy or gal hatched...
Here is a photo of my gorgeous hoehnelli female basking. She is doing great. Unfortunately, the male died within a couple of days of receiving them, which sucks after waiting a year.
I'm looking for the following females:
Trioceros montium
Trioceras pfefferi
Brookesia stumpfii (2)
I would consider trading my male B. stumpfii (WC LTC), but not the others.
My son and a friend created this 1 minute video, featuring some of my dart frogs, to enter into a cinematography contest online. They didn't win, but it came out pretty good. My male panther Nolan makes a "chameo" appearance at the very end. See if you can spot him.
