Which breeder is this? And it's not that insulting. It can be difficult to sex a chameleon so small, even with years of experience. She was wrong about this one, for instance.
Another member posted something a day or two ago about a chameleon eating a urate. Your cham. will be fine, but like another member responded, if it becomes a habit it could be an issue.
My hair isn't very long; only about about eight inches. The only thing that grabs onto it is Pepito, my male veiled. :P He loves just chilling on top of my head.
Perhaps putting some cricket food/fruit/veggies in the bottom of the viv would keep crix from biting the lizard. Still remove any uneaten feeders, but any you miss should go down to the food instead of biting your chameleon.
They might be demons actually. But they're pretty harmless demons that have never gotten stuck in MY hair. :P
And no, the shark from jaws was not mechanical. They just trained a dolphin to swim around and bite boats. Duh. :D
I don't have experience renting myself, but I BELIEVE that most landlords don't care about fish. Just try to play it off like that: An animal that lives in an escape proof cage that would die if it got out (outside, lol.) and can't destroy any property.
I currently have a mesh cage for Pepito, my male veiled. It's perfectly safe but crickets have chewed through before. (I'm not the first owner of this cage.) I cup feed so it works well. And roaches wont chew on the cage in my experience.
Cool! I'll try that with Pepito. I don't mean to offend anyone, but I don't find Mellers very attractive. I mean, they're big an all but I dislike their colors. They're not for me. My favorites are the shape of a veiled, the colors of a panther, and the horns of a jackson. I call it: The...
It'd be a lot more expensive, but perhaps you could move in, leave your Chams with someone in PA and then have them mailed to you.
Just a thought, although for 11 Chams that would put you at an unreasonably high pricetag.
Nevermind!
No red lamps! Big nono. :p Chameleons need total darkness to sleep. You'll need to get a CHE (Ceramic Heat Emitter) if temps get below 60. They run about $30 each where I am but they last for a few years. They create lots of heat but no light. That thing will require a...
