I have tried a lot of different lights but I can honestly say I have never tried these. They do look like they are the @#$% tho! Now if I had a Zoo and some funding... Who knows.? :)
Because T5s have better quality light output and higher fixture efficiency. I use T8's on all my cages with a 10.0 bulbs. I use a meter tho to tell me when it is time to change them. I just bought a powersun mercury vapor tho and the numbers I get from it are incredible! It blows away all...
Sigghhhh Well (long pause w/sigh) _Nick_, since you have changed what you were trying to achieve in 2 separate posts to 2 separate people, maybe you ought to re-think what you are trying to say!
I encourage you to keep trying. I just dont feel everyone should buy in to this!!! Especially since...
You can get 6500k lights at home depot or lowes. They have fixtures there as well. You might want to get a dual fixture to hold your UVB light and your plant light (6500K). It works a lot better with both.
I have always used a mix of both and I can honestly say it has not hurt their health or longevity! I use giant pothos and fake vines around the top especially under my raindome. My pothos grows so fast that all of the leaves at the top get burned. My pothos is about 3 1/2 feet tall and I cut it...
I have 10 cages and all of them sit on wire shelves. I just built a shower pan out of wood and covered it with Plumbing code liner. Then ran pvc to all my cages and down to a roughed in hole in my basement. Now if I could just find a way to bring water down... I got so tired of being a bucket...
Awesome! I have a Nikon and still dont know all of the settings, and its been 6 months. I guess its time to read as well... LOL Good luck with it your pics are turning out great already.
Since you are going for humidity I would probably go for the fogger. I have a misting system and the humidity only rises for about 30 minutes during the misting session and a lil after. I would go for the fogger, like what was already said it is best for a localized area and not the whole room...
Not sure where you are located but in the winter here it gets dry inside. Try to keep him away from a heat duct/vent and if you have sufficient drainage mist him more often in the winter.
That is another thing I can show you! You would be very surprised at some of the lights that I never expected to give off UVB but do and in good amount. And these are just lights I got for my plants. But I was messing around with the meters I just recently got and it made me wonder if were not...
I highly doubt it considering I have 2/ 5.0 bulbs but maybe both are bad... You should just do research for your own off google. A lot of people dont find the benefit that you 2 have found. Or the increased intensity of the numbers that you all have come up with. But hey every cage is different...
I can only tell you what I have experienced. Many other people who have tested on here have come up with similar results. There is a lot of information out there on the the 2 different sizes T5 and T8. The T5 that I have is what I bought thinking it was going to replace all of my T8's, it just...
Believe what you want but I am holding a UVB meter under a 2 month old T5 HO 48" retpisun bulb that was used for a few days and I will still tell you the same thing. It is not going to be 3 to 4X more powerful. T5 are not that much more beneficial than the T8's. Believe the HYPE!!! :rolleyes...
