If you handfeed him you can lure him out. But he´ll probably be angry when he realize that he is out of his cage and sitting on you. :D
The way I lure my cham out is this:
Place your hand in front of the cham (slightly under him). And then show him a cricket. When you see him focus on the...
Nice pics!
Yes, the fruitflies looks like the Sandpeople (name?) in Star Wars. So the young cham is really brave who eats them. Maybe the force is strong in him (or her) :D
I have the same opinion as Brad. I find it sad that this kind of morphs is more desirable in genral in the reptile hobby.
So far I was happy to see that it was little of this in chams. But now it looks like its coming to chams as well...
Yes, im a cham keeper from Europe (Sweden) and it´s good to get this issue staighten out. Because I think the most pro-glassenclosure-keepers are from Europe.
The glassenslosures we use here is, like Roo said, not the ones made for fishes. They usually have to whole top for ventilation and...
You can trick him out with food.
Put one hand in front of him and hold it still. Then you hold a cricket over it so he can see it. Then you have to move the cricket backward so he can´t reach it with his tongue.
If your Veiled is like mine (an aggressive hunter) he soon will be on your...
I also feed my cham with theese but i do not breed. Im to afraid of having a billion microroaches running around in my building. But I dont think there is any restrictions against them here in Sweden. So maybe one day I have my own colony.
But lucky me, I have have easy access to them through...
Chams aren´t social animals so that he responded like that when you held up your hand towards him wasent strange. My cham hates me :) ... I dont think that you´ll ever get him to be that calm that you just can pick him up. I see he´s behaivior like he´s healthy.
But a tip when handfeeding is...
Search, the forum has answers to this kind of stuff. But here is one thread on the topic -> https://www.chameleonforums.com/drainage-2117/
And in that thread there´s a good link -> http://www.chameleonnews.com/watering.html
One trick is to hold the cricket in front of you. That way your cham can keep an eye on you while it aims for the bug.
And hold the cricket so it can move a little.
Why keep them in a aquarium when you simply can build a terrarium from your aquarium. You can give them good ventilation that way. And you get a higher tank.
I keep my cham in a glassterr with no problem. Just keep it clean just like mentioned here earlier. The reflectionproblem can be solved...
