looks good, how many eggs did you end up with? Manage to take any pics of your actual setup?
and if you think those nails are gross you should see mine after spending an afternoon working on the bike :p
2'x2'x4' display case, modified w/ hardware cloth top and sides
works perfectly
drop the idea about a waterfall, more trouble than its worth.
If youre new to chams, you'll probably have your hands full w/ just the husbandry side of things...but a modified display case works just fine...
1/8" hardware cloth, nongalvanized, preferably plastic coated
lets more light/UVB in, still keeps all but the smallest feeders in, and makes viewing easier. Also no worries about chams getting their nails stuck in the mesh
maaaaan, you guys are bad news, every time one of you starts referring to your chameleons in the plural I get all jealous and start justifying another purchase :p
here's my boy
thats crazy! totally caught me off guard, did not expect to get barked at by a cham :D
does he only do it when someone is around him? maybe he's trying to scare your wife away?
Im assuming hes healthy otherwise? no stringy saliva or problems breathing?
had my panther free ranging, was gonna try and grab a video of him hunting a small mantis, but I could barely get near the plant without him going cross-eyed with excitement
oh well, here's what I managed to get
they're pretty toxic, cause nausea and gastroenteritis, but the leaves are really thick and hard to break. It'd take an aggressive cham to get into the sap, but if it did it could cause some issues
I have one w/ my panther, but he rarely eats plants, and if he does its the various bromeliads...
no idea, maybe move the breeder bin to a different room? All accounts Ive heard say that phorids can make their way into almost everything, sealed or not
all the sources I know of say the only way to get rid of phorids are to get rid of their food source :(
that looks like a phorid fly to me, not sure what you can do about it though :(
even if you didnt see live maggots in the roach, the eggs could have still been there...
a lumber yard might be able to hook you up w/ some thin cuts off some big trees, but its a bit of a long-shot
alternatively you could try the greatstuff foam approach w/ some cork bark, each of the cans probably covers a few square feet
