I would reccomend at least trying this gutload out.
I agree with Cherron, def a screen cage, and no subtrate. The airflow is extremly vital to the health of your chameleon. Not only can the chameleon injest the subtrate and get impacted, but when he/she poops, you might not see it right away and the crickets you feed them can eat the poo, then...
Here's my setup. We attached a gutter to the shelf the cage sits on. Have the back of the cages raised about 1/4 inch or so to help the water drain forward. We just squeegy the water into the gutter, down the tube, into the bucket. Hope this helps with ideas!! ;)
:) The cages will be elavated. The way I see it is, I can have my chameleons outside out of a cage, on my arm, and they can get a bug that might be bad for them. They might not. That's a risk everyone takes every tme they take their chameleon outside. The natural air and sunlight is so inportant...
