    Help! She's Dying!

1.5 years She has been bred 4 times in the past 9 months and layed 3 clutches of eggs - the first clutch has already hatched. She's gravid with the 4th now. The vet can't see her for a few days. Unless I come up with some good ideas from folks on here, she's **** out of luck :(

    Help! She's Dying!

I have a 1.5 yr old female Nosy Be. She's laid 3 clutches of eggs and is due to lay her 4th. The last 2 days she has been deteriorating fast. All of her feeding, watering, housing, lighting, supplementation, etc. is appropriate - I'm a very experienced chameleon keeper, but I have never seen...

    Babies dying!!!

This is interesting. I try to limit the food competition by offering tons of it, but I can see how competition for space would effect them. They're going to have a new and larger home soon.

    Babies dying!!!

It's actually 14" x 14" x 12", which is 36% larger than the 12 cube. I've read that alot of folks use sterlite tubs to rear their clutches. I would think that this would be better. I'd like to hear more of your thoughts if you wouldn't mind. Thanks!

    Babies dying!!!

Thanks for the input. Yes, 90 is basking only. This is my first panther clutch, so knowing that it is common for some babies to die is good to know.

    Babies dying!!!

I hatched 20 baby Panthers over two weeks (3/6-3/20). One of them died on Sunday, now a second one is dying. I can't figure out what 's going wrong. Enclosure:12" x 12" x 12" Aluminum Screen Cage, tiny wooded dowels and fake leaves. Lighting: A single 5.0 UVB Bulb across the back. I heat...

    Ahhh fruit flies

I just put a very small cup with bug burger gel next to the cham cage. Alot of the escapees tend to find the cup and hang out in there. Then I capture them and re-feed them. The rest end up somewhere in my house, but as long as I keep the house clean, they don't cause an issue and die soon.

    Wanna know what's funny, lol?

Thanks for the story. I don't mean to be rude, but just a little suggesting - reading this was kind of confusing until I figured out the "Chief" is the name of your chameleon. It's always good to start out by introducing he/she by writing something like, "My male Veiled Chameleon, named...

    Wanna know what's funny, lol?

Yeah, I agree. Not all people have/keep/breed chameleons just for the shear appreciation of them, some people use and abuse them as a means only to make a dime. - Not that there's anything wrong with breeding and selling, just that if you're breeding and selling, you should also be giving proper...

    Wanna know what's funny, lol?

Going to Petco and listening to the Petco employee tell someone who is purchasing a chameleon, "You can't feed chameleons meal worms because they will bore through the stomach of the chameleon and kill them." And the funnest thing to do is to argue with the Petco guy to try and convince him...

    Feeding Superworms Cheaply!

Hey all, I'm sure many of you out there keep a superworm colony. As you well know, they eat a ton. The most common food for them is Oats and Wheat Bran. I got tired of paying ~$5/lb for Wheat Bran at the grocery store, so I found a solution: They sell wheat bran in 40 lb sacks at most...

    Indian sticks help

Cham Creator - I think what Jackson is referring to is the pesticides that many gardeners spray on their plants. By using the inside leaves, you help decrease the chances of having pesticides. I also feed mine romaine like Laurie, but I feed them roses also. They prefer the roses over...

    newspaper instead of egg carton

Not really. Go to a local diner. Eat breakfast. Ask the manager for egg crates. If they don't have any, ask them to save some the next day for you.
