Look around. I was able to order some from a medical supply website without a prescription about a year ago. I'll see if I can find a link and post it.
I think you were right the first time but she does have a tint to her body that looks male. A couple other things I take into consideration, while relying almost entirely on the tail, are noticeable on this one. The green-grey of the cheeks may go away as they get older but in males the color...
Weird. I was actually just trying to think of the right way to describe the juvenile setup for you. Most breeders will recommend going as simple as possible while they're small. Basically just a small Rubbermaid tub with enough room to move around, some plastic "branches" to hang from, and a...
Wow, I'm so sorry I let this thread slide, everyone. I had fully intended to reply to a number of questions and comments that following weekend but just got too wrapped up in life. I'm going to try my best to make a detailed reply tomorrow. If I can get the kid off the Xbox long enough to...
Absolutely! Check out these pics: https://www.chameleonforums.com/gravid-green-tree-python-37752/index5.html#post423869. That's my almost 13 year old male. When he was a lot smaller he would loop around my hand and perch like they do on the branches or dowels and hang out as long as I wanted...
I got into GTP's because of my interest in arboreals, as well. If you appreciate their beauty and adaptations to an arboreal life you will not be disappointed. The best advice I can give is to seek out an actual breeder in the US. Cbb in the US vs farmed in Indonesia animals will be the...
Hi Sarah,
I forgot to email you back but I've come up empty, too, other than a female that is not in very good shape. An importer friend may have some coming in the new year but very unlikely to be by the 6th.
Best regards
The logic is that it hasn't been possible to get legal export permits for Furcifer balteatus from Madagascar in 19 years. Since you don't understand the history of these animals and are only trying to confuse things then it probably is best that it's the end of the discussion for you.
He said he was getting export permits for those. If that is not true then I am against the smuggling of those, too. Doesn't seem that strange to me... Nice attempt at confusing the point, though.
If you're going to address the non-believers, we're going to respond.... So those are what; 10th generation captive? 12th? Not sure those pics prove anything more than you can breed them in captivity, which we already knew. Get me a couple pairs of smuggled balteatus and I could have the same...
Maybe time has flown by but it feels like Kevin hasn't had his long enough to hatch any yet? I guess we didn't see too many of the last ones go to members here, though, did we.... Hopefully soon!
Uh...what everyone else said! That female is smokin', too!
Since the campani keepers will be checking in, have any hatched from previous shipments yet?
Ah, yes, the jealousy reasoning. Where have I heard that before? Sorry, Jurgen, I have a long history of voicing my opinion against smuggling chameleons. It's not something new and I'm not trying to pick on you alone. There are plenty of species available to keep; why is it so...
Really? Please explain your logic here because I don't get it. Are you saying you don't see any difference between wild caughts with quotas that have a track record of sustainability vs. paying criminals to smuggle species that were suspended from trade in an attempt to protect wild populations?
What does that mean? Prices are higher because the smugglers have to bribe an official somewhere for "paperwork?" I'm still not a fan of smuggling protected chameleons or supporting the black market trade in wildlife.
