    Everybody look my renewed terrarium

See if you could get some vining plants like pothos to train along those bungee cords because they really do foul up the look.

    my new home made cage

Nice. Do you have any build pctures? What kind of wood did you use? Are you sealing it ? How were the pieces joined? Sorry for what may be naive questions but I'd like to build something similar but have very little woodworking experiece.

Is this caterpillar safe to feed ?

Something's been decimating my leafy vegetables this season. I thought it was snails or slugs so set out beer traps to no avail. Tonite I went out ahunting and found these caterpillars. Anyone know what they are? Are they safe to feed to my veiled ( no pesticides used in my garden ) ?

    Making my own

Wonderful job. Why the UV lamp on the ball python? IIRC they are noctornal and not UV dependent.

    My new Veiled

Here are some better shots. I have to figure out how to focus better with this camera. I dont know if its just the macro setting I need to figure out or what but I have so sit down with the manual because I have such a hard time focusing on smaller and/or closer objects. Thats one thing I like...

    My new Veiled

What I meant is that at the size its currently, my best opinion is a male but the nubs are so small they could just be part of the ankles. Once it grows a little I'll be more certain. If I can manage to work the camera, I'll post better pictures including of its hind legs and you guys can tell...

    hornworms

I believe that the toxin gets incorporated into their system and is not simply excreted as they eat more. I could be wrong but please verify before you feed them to your chameleons. Those raised on commercial chow are no problem of course.

    My new Veiled

There are small nubs - which is why I'm assuming its a male - but I will know for certain as he gets a little bigger. He's not going for anything in a bowl. Its just a perspective trick as thats a Jesus fern in a dish a few feet behind. The picture is out of focus because I was holding the...

    My new Veiled

I've more or less given up hope on finding my lost cham ( though I still have an enclosure for him if he turns up ) and bought a new baby. He was purchased from Debbie @ Beeger Boxes at the last White Plains show. He's 2 months old ( correct me if I'm wrong Debbie ) and seems to be a 'he'. I'll...

Why Gutload when there's a Shortcut?

Welcome to the forum - you'll find yourself spending a lot of time here. Do your research and you'll enjoy Penny for many years. She acts that way when you try to pick her up because she doesnt want to be picked up. Its her way of letting you know. Chameleons are mostly hands off pets. As...

    Finally FINISHED!

Thanks for this thread as its the closest to a DIY build thread I've been able to find. Most people just post the finished product which isnt much help to us DIY newbies. I'm looking to build at least one similar cage before the summer is up. How much time did you actually spend working and what...

    chameleons and vegtables ?

In the wild, Veiled's often use vegetation as a source of hydration during the drier seasons as well as a source of nutrition. The key is variety - both with insects and bugs as well as vegetables.
