Yes, using 5.0 uvb. I just figure it would be nice for the Chameleon to get a breeze every now and then and feel the wind, see the leaves move and what not. I live outside of chicago, so I am guessing once summer starts going humidity will not be an issue, but I still think I am going to be...
I have a quick question. Right now I have my chameleon cage set up on the desk by a window. The shade is halfway down the window. The cham cage covers 3 inches on the side of the window. the only point the sun gets into the cage is at high noon to the end of the day and only enters the...
This is almost he final product of the cage before I get my little guy. I still have to set up the dripper and feeder cup. The cage looks very full and cluttered, but from the side(which I don't have a picture of) there is plenty of space to move from level to level. The first picture is the...
I make the drive from Rockford to the show. I am originally from the Lombard and villa park area though. Pretty much if you can think of it, you can get it. The show carries so much stuff there. Roaches, crickets, silk and horn worms, FF, feeder mice. It has everything. The show has really...
LOL.. good eye! Those are two boxes.. Those will not be the final thing. I am looking into a planter to set it on. This is all the mock up to see how it looks and where to put things, the door is still off and the temp cord is hanging out where the door will be. Still not sure if I will...
wow you were able to fit a bunch in that cage. It is the same size as mine. I have the temp monitor there just to see how the temps are doing. The door is not even on the front of the cage yet.
I will look at those plants at our local garden shop. I was thinking the panther would have a...
Just wondering if you can give me some suggestions so far about what to do to the setup. I am thinking I need more cover at the top. This is going to be for a 4.5month panther. The temp in the middle is around 70-75. The temp in the basking spot is 85. Humidity is currently at 72 after a...
I want to put my Chameleon that I purchased in the same room as my Black and White tegu. Now the cages would be close together, but they would not be able to see each other. My question is would one of the two sense the other one and drive them insane? Should I take other precautions?

Just a quick question. I see many people just use a household bulb for a basking bulb and rest it on the top of their enclosure. What stops the chameleon from hanging from the top of the enclosure under that bulb and possibly getting burned. Has this happen to anyone?

Just wondering what a good cage size would be for a 5-6month old panther? I am looking into getting a male soon and am not sure which to start with. Anyone know of a good site to pick on up at or find a used one at? Also this would not be my first reptile. I have had two bearded dragons, one...
they really do not produce a odor. I would just leave the bottom of the bin empty. The problem with putting substrate in is when you have to clean. Then you also have the issue of the babies in the substrate if you are ever going to feed them. I clean my dubia bin once a month and have no...
sounds good. I have had my dubia colony going for about 6 months now and feeding my bearded from it. A couple suggestions though, Take clear packaging tape and put it around the inside of your bin towards the top so the babies can no climb out. I know people say dubia roaches can not climb...
