Hello, I would suggest filling out the ask for help template, and posting a few images. the ask for help can help with discerning if there are other issues, IE; Humidity, causing the bad shed. usually increasing humidity, will help ease a bad shed... and if i understand correctly, Jackson's...

that sounds like diatomaceous earth... can get it in a 10lb bag at lowes or home depot.... for probably half that price... checked msds on it, its not diatomaceous earth, its orthoboric acid.... not sure about health issues with it...

i believe the mist king timers are 1 second increments, and are programmable cycle timers... im not sure about cycling that much or that often. have you tried putting moss substrate in? they do good with a substrate don't they? I never had a pygmy.... been looking at them recently though...
