Just the info I was looking for! Thank you very much! I have been talking about starting a farm there my whole life, so I am pretty overly-excited, haha. I'll have to check out Olive Branch - we are moving to Reagan, TN. I am getting a resume together to try to find a good job in a pet...
Hey Everybody,
After several years of practicing and planning, we are finally making the move from the suburbs of Camden, NJ to a small farm around Henderson County, TN. Jackson or Memphis would be the closest cities there.
Is there anyone familiar with the area that could recommend a good...
Another very popular reptile classifieds site has the same issues - and drives me nuts to see the way people are treated there. My very first post there - a wanted ad for black rat snake morphs - became a hit for moderators who posted I was shady, a scammer, etc etc because I had a "NEW" join...
Thank you for your posts! Printing and glue-sticking them to my notebook, haha. I see on your list and have heard that silkworms eat mulberry leaves - is there any good nutrition in the fruit for crickets/roaches? Here in the Northeast, Mulberry trees are everywhere and often considered a...
She just layed this evening!! She is spending a lot of time packing the earth over, it looks like she cleaned house but Im trying not to get too close.
My female Verru made it out of her enclosure, across the room to the open sliding glass door, and squeezed between the screen and glass. Thank god my spidey-senses were tingling, cause she was about to be out of there! I open a window now if they need it, haha. Great thread!
Does your husband tell you you don't own the electric company when he turns them off? Because that's what my wife tells me. Haha (jk) - with all the money we cham-keepers spend on electric I think we should at least get some company stock, or something! :P
The trash can is a great idea! I will replace my bin when I get home today. Play sand, huh? Does it have to be very moist? That's probably a cleaner idea, I'll have to tuck that away for next time.
Awesome!! Hopefully the eggs will be okay. I have a round bin about 13" in diameter, and 5" deep. I got a bag of all-natural top soil and filled the container to the brim. Is this container deep enough, do you think? I also have pots for plants if that's any better.
What I DON'T have is an...
Hahaha. Sounds like my pair. I have noticed my Spinies don't like my hat when the bill is in the front. If it's backwards or off, they seem to be more comfortable.
Hey Everybody,
I have a pair of Verrucosus that I had copulate several weeks ago. Since then the female has gotten VERY large in the belly, but I'm not noticing gravid coloring? This is my first pair, so I am a bit unfamiliar. I will update her weight today, she was 61.9 grams before...
I just ordered dubias, hornworms and 100 crickets from Mulberry Farms, they just arrived at the Fedex facility, which is holding the box for me. ( I was also tired of store prices. - $1.50/ hornworm was killing me!)
I have to say as far as customer service goes, they take the cake. They have...
We are adding several live plants to the enclosure today, and I have covered her enclosure on one side so she cannot see the male or his encl.
For the past few days she hasn't been eating AS much, but I haven't noticed her eyes sunken before. They do look that way in the original pics now...
Hahaha, this is great!
When I mist my chams, I sometimes turn the lights down and make the "thunder noise" with my mouth - And what is funny is they actually seem to enjoy it! Instead of freezing up when I spray, they seem more calm. Good post, haha!
Thanks, LPR! Actually, I used your notes to get them to breed in the first place! After about 3 weeks of the slightly dryer season, they mated on their own. I only observed them mating once, in the early morning after their lights were on and they had been misted.
For a few days prior to...
