I just wanted to add that height of plants can be adjusted easily with low cost plant stands. Here, we have Dollar General and Family Dollar where I purchased small plant stands, a couple different heights, for $3 to $6. :)
I'm in the same situation, losing my 4 yr old veiled, and starting over with a baby. As I go back reading to refresh my memory, others have said that 10% UVB is too strong for a baby. For that reason I'm using 5% on my baby cage. Good luck with the new baby!
I just discussed this with my vet when I took Paisley (veiled) for a ck-up. Paisley had some small bits of skin remaining from his last shed, & normally I don't touch them. The vet told me to remove these bits of skin with a Q-Tip when he's wet, & the skin is soft.
I, also, have a problem with the schefflera slowly dying in the brev habitats. Philodendron isn't on the safe lists that I've looked at, but I'm having surprising success with spider plants! They're doing well, & have a grassy look that compliments the surroundings. :)
