I would love to have some melleri, but after researching decided that I need to gain some general experience first. I wish you the best. Read all you can, and enjoy.

Oh my, I'm not up to date here. The last I read, you were renting and moving into a travel trailer. No? Well, if you're renting, you need landlord permission to do anything. As for guests, I'm not revising my way of life for a visitors. I do have a spare room devoted to chams, so I can shut...
What a handsome fellow. Congrats!
Note: I buy orchard grass hay as a treat for my dwarf rabbit at the petstore. A 15 oz bag costs around $5 and lasts for awhile for one pet.
Don't ever apologize for doing what you have to do for an ailing or elderly pet. You're doing great. Maybe it's time to remove some plants and fill the corners with leafy vines. I've read of people using reptile hammocks for aging Chams. Maybe some slanted bird ladders would act as ramps...
At stores like Family Dollar and Dollar General, you can get plant stands for $3 to $6. I don't know if they stock them this time of the year though. I know they can be easily found in spring thru summer. :)
With chameleon, you get temperature and humidity guages, misting system, drainage system, I keep a log book of supplement dates, weights, shed dates, UVB light dates, and I need a step stool to reach the top of the cage. I wouldn't change a thing, but I don't trust any of my adult relatives to...
I'm new to reptiles/exotics/chameleons, just since 2009. My previous experience has been with dogs, mainly retired, racing greyhounds, 23 years as an owner, 12 years as a volunteer for an adoption group. We wanted to find loving, responsible homes for the dogs, but not make the greyhound the...
I'm sorry to hear that you lost your little cham. I totally agree with the others that this was not your fault. You did everything you possibly could. When you've had time to grieve for this little baby, consider getting another chameleon. Perhaps 4 months old or older, because they're a...
I place Roach Motels in the cham room and a couple other places, mainly to catch loose crickets, but they trap all bugs that wander into them. The glue has an odor that I don't care for, but they are non-toxic. Good luck with the spider problem.
Congrats on the new cham. I just wanted to add that heights of the plants can be varied by using plant stands. My chams spend very little time in the lower 1/4 of their cages, so plant stands raise the plant heights to more useful levels. Enjoy! :)
Welcome. It sounds like you're really enjoying your new Cham. The care resources on this site are terrific for guidance in setting up and maintaining a habitat. Good luck with your new guy. :) https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/caresheets/veiled/
