    Bathroom water

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me is leaving water for 24 hours to dechlorinate it the same as using water from the bathroom? Its just the water in the bathroom comes from a big tank in the attic that would be left exposed constantly with just a gradual topping up during the day. Does...

I totally agree but you know yourself by the time its noticeable that a cham is sick it means hes pretty far gone.

Please help with my veiled chameleon.

Have to agree here. The more info you provide the more help you will be able to get. Some people here have encountered this problem first hand and might just have the exact remedy for you.

Please help with my veiled chameleon.

I wouldn't keep the bowl of water because he won't drink from it and it can be a breeding ground for bacteria. The vet at this stage is your best option as sunken eyes/closed eyes etc are a sign of ill health. There could be a few different reasons for it. However if money is holding you...

    Quick question on night-time lights?

I'm not sure about the heat as my setup is a little different so I have a constant heat but as far as night lights I found the red bulb keeps my cham awake but the blue type is fine. The only thing is the blue type is so dark it only lights up anything very close to it so don't expect to be able...

Please help with my veiled chameleon.

Sounds like he is dehydrated and pretty badly too. You'll have to take him to the vet and get them to re-hydrate him and soon coz it sounds like its gone quite far.:(

    Too many ?s unanswered

I had a reptiglo 10.0 but changed it for the 5.0 coz read the 10.0 was too bright on his eyes. Also bought a huge pothos for my cham to climb on when hes not in the cage but was horrified when he fell off. the branches were good and thick with big leaves but couldn't support the weight of my...

    One eye closed?

I'm still using the long tube type. I read the coil is type is too strong by a few people now. If it was the light he could have been too close to it for a bit too long. My cham usually ends up sitting with his left eye facing the bulb thats why I thought it might be that. I have more places for...

    I have a question..............

You could try adding tank mates like I did but don't tell anybody coz You'll get flamed. Or If you're just looking for an interesting reptile see if you can get your hands on a Thorny Devil. They just eat tonnes of ants but the way they drink is so cool.:D

    One eye closed?

I had the same problem about 2 months ago. Just out of the blue he shut his left eye. I noticed him rubbing it sometimes. I also noticed he couldn't eat either because he couldn't focus on a locust (ie: judge the distance) I tried misting his eye with water but he'd only open it for a short...

    Frogs & chameleons???

Just look at the smiles on the frogs. Ha ha I'm kidding. I'm just assuming they are happy since they are all good grubbers and are always active. One of the female turtles lays eggs sometimes which is a sign of a stress free environment. I've seen some enclosures on this site and all they...

    Frogs & chameleons???

I've tried so hard to give the turtles the right environment. I've had them in a heated pond in a shed I built just for them but it was costing mega bucks to keep it heated properly. I had them in an aquarium about 2' high but it was next to impossible to created a good land area for them. The...

    Frogs & chameleons???

I know it took me a while to come up with a way of adding live plants without the turtles wrecking them. I finally used some small tubs that I get my waxworms in and jammed them in the vines. They didn't work the first time but I've realised the tubs have to be watered everyday or they dry up...
