I like the racks cuz I have a hose on each rack in the drip tray that goes to a bucket.
I don't think the costco tables have holes in them. Do they? Did you drill a hole on the tables? I would like to see pics of it.
I also don't like sitting the basking lamps on top of the cage because...
When I went to the vet my chams mouth didn't have any mucus in it but believe me he had URI. My vet didn't want to do any culture or blood test because he said the throat was clear so he said "if I wanted to", he can give me Baytril.
I told him I'd use it only if I see the mucus comes back...
Here's the black rack. The rest of the poles won't reach the top.
I'm still working on the enclosures cuz they look messy to me. Especially this big one which I haven't finished yet. I think this rack was 72 inches high.
See how the big cage is in front of a window I can't open. I have to...
Nah, I don't roll them out but I have them in front of the windows so the sun hits the cage every day from 430 till around 8pm. I just open the windows. It would take up too much space outside and people have to walk thru there.
The only reason I didn't use the remaining poles on the black...
Yeah, you might want check his mouth and see if there's a build up of saliva tomorrow.
There should not be any bubbles coming out & they shouldn't be drooling.
Chams go downhill pretty fast & sometimes it's hard for them to recover if the illness is advanced.
Oh no, I'm not planning on it yet. That's why I don't heat the females enclosure that much. If you look on the right, that's her cage. Only half of it gets sun. You can't see her cuz she's at the corner where there is sun. Sunning herself..LOL. I have all males except for her.
I do want to...
I know, those racks are like 60-80 bucks at Target.. Expensive and they dont fit 2 of the 24x24x48 cages. Those 2 cages are 18x18x36.. I think you would have to buy 2 racks to fit 2 of the 48" tall cages.
The large cage I have is the 24x24x48 and my veiled cham is in it. It can only fit that...
Oh god tell me about it!
They also sometimes would go underneath it when trying to run away from me that I fear it would hurt or scatch their buldging eyes :o
Thanks I have 6 including a pygmy that I can't find a mate for.
I used to use one of those plastic coated thin wires they have at Michael's arts and crafts but after a while it does rust but this one hasnt. You can also use those plastic ties for cables.. etc..
Here's the green tie & it...
Here's one of my enclosures. See the green ties holding the cups, I use those to tie the pots of pothos to the screens. You can see one of the pots hanging I think. If you notice that cage on the right, it has a hibiscus with not too many leaves so I draped the pothos to make it look fuller...
What I did with mine is I placed the pothos in small pots, drilled some holes on the pot and hanged it on the corners with plant ties.
As the pothos grew, I didn't secure the vines. I just draped them over everything.
I've never had a chameleon fall from it. Well mine is densely planted...
Are you planning to get more chams?
Cuz when I just had the 2 chams I used to just use the hand pressure pump sprayers they sell for 12 bucks but I worked graveyard so I had time to mist them.
Now that I work days, I had to get a misting system because I can't mist them anymore. Plus I...
Yeah, I think that's a good idea. If you don't have to use it, I wouldnt buy it either. See if it works without the heater first. You don't wanna spend $60 plus for something you can do without. I would also just monitor how they're doing first.
