do you hear and "snap crackles and pops" ??? clicking sounds and foaming at the mouth can be a big give away as well, URI's sometimes start with lethargy... though closing the eyes might be a stretch on that one...
Were his arms (front arms) always that thin...
First I would not use the daylight blue bulb for basking - either a regular reptile specific basking bulb or even a regular light bulb would be fine for basking, but the blue will throw off your chameleons vision and confuse it.
Foam from the mouth usually means a URI. upper respiratory...

Did you write this Kinyonga?
Its not bad... simplistic ( which I would sometimes consider a plus )
but it does give a certain tone that chameleons are problematic animals, which we all know given proper husbandry is usually untrue...
in the general sense of a grade I would give it a...
Sorry to heard about that friend, people can be horrible sometimes - especially in the pet business.
Just know that he is obviously in the best place possible, and probably thanking you for everything you did to make his last days the best.
If you are going to consider another chameleon (...
The petcos in California have seen a sharp decline in the size of crickets, from what i assuming is the cricket virus. Parvo(sp.) as someone else said, it what its being identified as and according to that person wiped out most of the common cricket populations in Europe.
That information can...
Sandra I mainly think the problem with female crosses is that people will try to pass them off a pure breds, and since as you said they will always have that "female coloration", its impossible to tell that its a mix and not pure. The only way to tell would be when a clutch is born, and if that...
This is true... except :0
you could always contact a breeder that sells CB carpets ( Ryan/Chad @ Tiki Tiki perhaps? ) or perhaps FL chams, and you could have the breeder bring the animal to the show as a special request... of course that would probably force you into buying it, However...
Any fish tank or aquarium is not going to make a suitable chameleon enclosure without some serious modification.
I suggest instead of working so hard on such a project to purchase a recommended screen cage from out of our site sponsors. It supports the sit and gives your chameleon a wonderful...

Either add a nice plant on the bottom, or a hanging plant in a corner of the cage.
However I like what you have so far - though im sure your cham would like it even more "junglified".
Maybe Xanth will chime in to answer my question ( or anyone with Xanth experience :) )
But are you...
I havent heard of roaches ( Dubia in this case ) nibbling on chameleons, though crickets are infamous for it. If you have heard of this... ide like to know more pardalisgirl, its certainly interesting!

Instead of wax worms which are just globs of fat, and meal worms that can cause impaction and hold little nutritional value...
I would suggest purchasing some horn worms over the internet and injecting them them with a mixture of water and pedialyte, very very very diluted pedialyte.

Im just curious to know why you would "purchase" something thats most likely in your backyard.... I know they are in mine.
secondly, out of insane cat like curiosity how much did you pay for it? I say it because as of now no gender has been signified.

Honestly I say plump down the cash and get the TUB of powder, sure one time large cost... but it beats grinding cuttle bone constantly, and Im one to bet that the pure calcium...
The link did not give a phosphorous (sp) ratio, and thats kind of what you want to be weary of, not to much phosphorous (sp) in the diet compared to calcium.
Calcium wise its pretty solid.... but considering this would be an alternative to pure calcium... im not so sure. Im also not so sure of...

And some beautiful pictures I must say :)
Of course I will probably start off with a easier species of pygmy, just to "hone" my skills. Though in the future it would be wonderful to own a pair of Spinosus.
I was also pondering...
