Its been... well a very long time since lovely Basil got his picture taken. Luckily the sun has been shining very nicely here in So-Cal, so I whipped out the camera and took some pics. Let me know what you think!

    "Friendliest" Cham?

Is that what you were asking? If you mean species wise.... well its a gamble. Veiled's are known to be feisty but ive seen some veiled sweethearts. Panthers are known to be docile but my Ambanja is a tough guy until you get him out of the cage, while my Sambava is an all around sweetpea...

Best DSLR camera for my needs?

All sensors in the Camera bodies are based off of the flagship, with the flagship being "the best". No the A700 sensor is not fullframe as the A900's, but yes the technology is based off of it. That is why the A900 costs about $3000 and the A700 was $750. Also I support Tamron and Sigma...

Best DSLR camera for my needs?

Might I add you might want to check photography review to see if they have anything for sale that your interested in. Just an example I thought ide put up. This Shot was taken as a "spur of the moment" thing and I think for that it came out amazingly well. My A500 at work. PP included

Best DSLR camera for my needs?

Don't get me wrong summoner, ive gotten some wonderful things off of Ebay myself.... but there is still a lot of crap on there none the less. A LOT of people have begun to market no-name lenses, selling them as compatible (and they are usually) to most mounts (4/3rds seems most popular)...

Best DSLR camera for my needs?

Whatever Camera you do buy, save up and just buy the Body + a prime lens at the same time. The Whole Body + Kit lens is kinda dumb in my opinion. Kit lenses usually suck, compared to nearly everything else.

Best DSLR camera for my needs?

Well I purchased the A500, and its lovely. That body feels really "heavy duty" aka the build material is very nice but its not outrageously heavy. It feels very solid, and the ISO and noise levels on most of my lenses is negligible/completely removable in a program as simple as Iphoto I used...

Best DSLR camera for my needs?

Well if I took an A900 and strapped a no name $75 dollar no name 50mm f2.8 macro on it then yes my images will still turn out crappy. If I take an A230 and strapped a G series 100mm f2.8 on it ($450 + tax) then my images will still not come out that great. Why? Because the A230 sensor is a...

Keeping crickets..........is it as bad as i think???

Eliza where the hell do you 150 crix for $3? (besides an online supplier... I know that) I just got 150 at my local petco and the total was $21.... however no way in hell ill ever keep 1k at a time, I HATE crickets. But the chams love them more than Dubia (silly chams).

Best DSLR camera for my needs?

Not True at all. Camera Bodies are very important, more important than any lens especially when it comes down to sensors and craftmanship. Im not a Canon or Nikon shooter ( I was able to resist getting suckered into the outrageous lens price (for built in stabilization my ***) ). But with...

    Screen Resolution

45 gigs of ram? D**n dude, how much pron you watching? :) I was gonna go ahead and surprise myself with a gaming computer for my birthday..... but instead I got a mac. Sigh... yes I miss tinkering with GFX cards (8800gts ftw :p) but one thing I don't miss is driver issues and an...

    Nosy Be's

Care is similar to a veiled, Except: 1. Humidity should be aimed at 60-70% 2.Basking temperature should never exceed 90 F. 85 is the ideal temperature for life with panthers 3. They are a little more prone to respiratory infections due to higher humidity, so have a chameleon ready vet and...

    Veiled Chameleon- New owner worries

Reading your first post, a baby should be eating every day, not every couple. the number it eats will depend on the feeder size and the temperatures in the cage. The larger the feeders the less he needs to get full, the higher the temp the better his metabolism. Make sure to read up on...

    cocccidia days are over

Glad to hear that everything is going well :) Did you get another fecal done yet to make sure all the Cocc is gone? Also I would recommend reptaid to give a little pick me up to your cham, that stuff seriously works wonders :) S.F

Not to steal the thread, But my Sambava is a Rantabe hold back, and My Ambanja is an Azure hold back. Sandy & Elliot are the easiest people to work with and the chameleons that come from them just emit this glow that shows all the work and care that went into them. They are the only...

The forums actually sells the best chameleon books available, and from personal experience I have not been able to find reliable chameleon specific books at any book store, chameleons are just not that popular of a pet for major retailers to carry species specific works. That however does not...

This image comes from chameleonsnorthwest.com and is Azure, the father of my purple bar Ambanja. Currently My Basil is still a little young to be showing off his adult coloration (which usually kicks in @ 1 year of age, but can take as long as 1.5 years) Though If I make him mad enough his...

Panthers are a single species, but diversified in Locale. Ambilobe Sambava Ambanja Nosy Be These are the four most common from there Ambilobe - Red Barred Ambiloe - Blue Barred Sambavas don't have that much variation so they are just generally referred to as Sambavas. Though some lines are...
