Vinny was fine yesterday afternoon, then again this morning both eyes are closed. I've taken the advice of everyone on here and cut out the top of the reptarium so more UV can get through. I really don't know what the deal is, I thought it was feeders, but I didn't feed him yesterday.
K guys, let me know your thoughts. I hadn't fed Vinny in a few days while his eyes have been weird, and he woke up yesterday perfectly fine. So, I decided to feed him a superworm and some Dubia's- he ate a worm and one of the roaches. Now, again this morning, one of his eyes is shut. I'm...
Guys- thanks for all the responses- this forum is awesome. Really bad timing for this, I'm right in the middle of 2nd year law school exams, which are hellish.
I took him outside today and he got some sun, seemed to be doing fine this afternoon, but I'll have to see how he's doing in the...
Ok, so scrap the 15 w bulbs and just put some regular house bulbs in place of them? How about the Zoo med 60 watt? I have the Zoo med 60 watt close to the halogen.
So, I have 2 hoods that have space for an 18" bulb, then space for 2 smaller bulbs.
The 18" are Exo Terra repti glo 5.0
The 4 15 watt bulbs (I was wrong on 30) are Exoterra sun glo

The "60 watt heat/florescent" is a Zoo Med...
Here are some pics- I am just using minerall- what else do I need? Eyes are looking better now, again it seems like just a morning time affliciton, really strange.
Yeah, I'd like to- but like I said it's not possible for a few weeks- closest reptile specialist is an hour away, and I'm right in the middle of exams that require me to study all day until they are over.
Now, he seems to have both eyes open- it seems like just a morning situation, really weird.
All- any advice or experience would be really helpful, I'm pretty worried about Vinny.
He's about 1.5 years old, never had any health problems, nothing has changed in his environment (several reptisun 18" bulbs, halogen heat lamps, no toxic plants, 175 gallon reptarium, feeding on...
Ha, thanks for all the replies everyone- I'm still working on it. He didn't take to the tweezer idea, just thought I was coming to get him and got defensive. I'll get him to eat them somehow, he's such an obstinate little SOB- I know he's just trying to win on this so he'll only get worms...
Thanks, I'm going to try tongs but I haven't really fed him like that, he may not be into it. I may try putting it on the screen of the cage, but there's good odds it'll get away before he gets to it, and I don't want a roach hiding, pain to find it.
Yeah, I've tried shaking, they move for 2 seconds then go into clandestine mode again. I left two in there for 4 days without anything else and he still didn't eat them, super annoying...
I'm feeding them fruits, parsnips, carrots, oats, etc- they're well fed, I just can't get him to eat them because they won't move. I want to give him a varied diet, but he's like a drug addict for superworms!
So, my year and 4 month old veiled chameleon Vinny is being a total pain in the ass. He loves superworms, he would probably eat a whole tub if I let him. I'd also been giving him crickets since he was small, but decided to move over to dubia roaches recently. However, he will not eat them-...
