Are Kinyongia females as problematic when it comes to laying eggs ? I'm always seeing problems with veiled chameleons getting egg bound but not so much with other species- the female Kinyongia are so pretty. I'm wondering if it's the species or that there are so many more people who have them...
I originally bought house flies for my flapneck when I got her - she was about the same size at 3 months - but she liked them so much she was eating the bluebottle's that I had gotten for my bigger guy/gal- before she got much bigger- the bluebottles last longer - once you hatch them and before...
Have you seen Dragonstrand ledges ? He's making them for screened cages- makes it easier to hang plants and keep things off the floor so the cages are easier to clean -

You can get a kit- that comes with containers and such or you can make your own-

When I moved my Jackson into her new cage she was dark for over a week - they do tend to not like people messing with their stuff- changing things but I would add some more cover for him- My jackson will eat from my hand no problem but gets dark if I clean her cage and don't put things back...
Unlikely - they usually go toward high ground - follow wires up -usually they will only use the floor if they see it as a way to get somewhere where they can climb higher. If it's toward when he would be going to sleep he wouldn't be too worried about heat - they sometime look for a cooler...
I don't have any experiences with wild caught chameleons - I am hoping he does well -
If your thinking flies - you can order bluebottle's online from mantisplace.com - get yourself some of the fly food at the same time and put some pupae in a screened cup with some and sit it on top of one of...
It looks good but you will probably want some sort of drainage- I end up with a lot of water running through my Jackson cage as she is a pill about drinking - I also have a cool mist humidifier that I have on the outside-
She was my first and I got her when she was just under two weeks old so...
I would suggest a sample pack from Linda's gone buggy for one Jackson- this time of year- I did some silkworms from eggs in the summer as I find them easier to hatch myself and I have access to mulberry leaves -
I usually hand feed silk worms or put them on the screen or on leaves - phoenix...
Have you seen the new Dragonstrand ledges ? I'm not sure what sizes I need for my cages but as soon as I figure it out I want to get some- My cages aren't regular sized - It makes setting up a reptibreeze as easy as a DS breeders-
with the raindome you will not have to make cuts for the lines...
Welcome
I see you have a "day/night light" - no light at night - Here's the veiled care sheet- It's likely Petco gave you some information that is totally wrong-
(like a light at night)

If he's small you can put your feeding cup up...
Feeders can get expensive - for lower cost feeders I like silks worm from eggs when the mulberry trees have leaves - bluebottle flies & calci worms- My guy/gal didn't find calci's interesting when they were younger but all the sudden seem to like them - I can pick them up at the local pet store...
I have been looking for an answer to this for a while -I understand the thinking on not overfeeding females in order to try and have less egg production and a healthier mom- and know that is at least part of the thinking behind that. I also read one thread where in males over eating was said to...
