I put mine into separate containers on Mar 6th, they are now almost fully formed beetles. About half are still white but have the correct shape, the other half are ranging in colour from beige to light brown.
Did you keep them in the dark for those 3 weeks?
That would be so scary to have your cham escape outside, you guys are lucky the weather is warm there, here a cham wouldn't last 5 second outside on most days:(
Syn, I'm imagining the feet on the blinds, that would be a funny sight indeed! Almost the perfect hiding place:p
Titan, that was a great story, I would have died if that happened to me, I don't own a ladder and there are a lot of outdoor/stray cats in my neighborhood. It wouldn't be long before I was climbing up the tree itself:eek:
Luckily my cham has never managed to really escape, it's not for his...
Oh, yes, please do! I haven't seen them kept that way, sounds much more cost-effective too:cool: (not that cost is ever the deciding factor when designing a chams enclosure, but if you can do it for cheaper, why not;))
I think what Nick was referring to is the fact that most commonly kept chameleons (ie. panthers and vieleds) are not recommended to be kept in an all glass enclosure here in NA, whereas in the UK it is acceptable (and sometimes necessary) due to your lower climate.
I thought most people use a...
Glad to hear you've found him a new home. I think you would be happy with keeping fish. Although they are still a 'display' animal, depending on what species you get they can be very interactive with their owner. Especially once they learn to associate you approaching the tank with a feeding...
Thanks for being a sponsor Drew & Tamera! You guys are doing an excellent job of bringing more of a variety to Canada:) I feel lucky you're within driving distance from me;)
I got my first cham from these guys, he's healthy, gorgeous and not aggressive (friendly is a little to strong a word...
Montreal is not too far from London at all, shipping would certainly be easier on her (and cheaper for you;)) then from NL. I would definitely be willing to look after her for that time and then send her back to you. I'm going to send you a PM so we can discuss the details a bit farther:)
I'm in Ontario and I would consider taking her if you weren't able to find someone closer to you. Are you going out of Province for training or are you staying in NL?
Forgot to ask: Are you looking for a permanent new home or would you prefer to take her back once you are ready?
Awesome! I think I'm going to try that drawer idea;)
Breeding supers certainly is a long process, I'm trying it for the first time myself...they're in the dark drawer still, just starting to look like curled up white beetles:rolleyes:
