    Cohabitation of jacksons

I made a quick post on the comment section of their video directing people to this link and this forum. Maybe it'll save a couple lives.

    Cohabitation of jacksons

That's a sad video :(. Setup looks kind of small for even 1 full grown adult, but 3 in that setup?!?! I doubt that there will be 3 happy chams in that setup a year from now. Listen to the knowledgable people on here over a YouTube video or random internet information any day. Every care sheet...

    New ReptiBreeze XL

I bought mine in mid-March. I did a lot of online shopping and the best price that I found was from a random distributor through Walmart.com. Brand new in the box shipped to my door for $98.69. I believe it was on sale at the time. So shop around and you might find a good deal like I did.

    New ReptiBreeze XL

My veiled loves his reptibreeze XL. In hindsight, wish I would've started out with it instead of the medium that came with the chameleon starter kit setup. Even though the cage is pretty big (24x24x48"), he still insists on coming out and exploring whenever we're home. The funny thing is that he...

    Lost and found!

Herbert is currently out exploring as usual because I always let him out when I'm home. I just checked all of his normal spots and couldn't find him for a good five minutes. This is the first time that he has crawled up into the car instead of just crawling underneath it. He's getting pretty...

    Lost and found!

We let Herbert out of his cage whenever we're home. We don't have any dogs, cats, or any animals that can harm him. He normally climbs down his cage, walks over to the glass sliding door or goes under this car. He likes crawling under it and poking his head out of the other end, while keeping...

My new wild-caught veiled...he shows self-awareness via the mirror test

@jannb has the better Christmas hat photo though. After seeing all of her family photo pics, I'd gladly make her Herbert's God Mother! All of her little guys and gals look so happy. Herbert's Grandma (my mom) let me rip that hat off of one of her Christmas decorations. It was the smallest one...

My new wild-caught veiled...he shows self-awareness via the mirror test

Thanks for sharing the family photos. My wife and I also take Herbert on trips to petco, to visit the grandparents, to visit our coworkers on random days off. We love that he has a persona of his own among other humans. "How's Herbert doing?" "Any new pictures or Herbert updates?" A kid at petco...

My new wild-caught veiled...he shows self-awareness via the mirror test

My veiled Cham Herbert tends to like looking in a small mirror that we have hanging on the wall. He tries to go for it whenever we're walking past it. He doesn't get upset (puffing, color changes, open mouth) but just likes clawing at it with his front legs. But as most of you guys know, they...

My new wild-caught veiled...he shows self-awareness via the mirror test

Saw this video on tv a while ago. These guys put a big mirror in the jungle (I'm assuming the African Congo region). The chimps show the most self awareness. There's even a bird in there for jeanpierre. Enjoy!

Need some advice with a baby veiled 2,5 month boy

Mine was the same way, but as he got older and grew bigger, he started coming out on his own. He started by climbing up on the top of his cage. Then the the top of the cage turned into anything he could reach while on top of the cage. Then he started climbing down his cage and walking on the...

Need some advice with a baby veiled 2,5 month boy

The hissing and opening of the mouth means that your Cham feels threatened. They view their cage as their territory/safe space. A big human arm, hand, a stick approaching them can be intimidating and basically scares them. Then they do the hissing and opening of the mouth as a defense mechanism...

how DID you get your cham to hand feed

Yup. Also got tricked. Took the time to put that video on YouTube so I could share the link with a guy from 2008.... o_O

how DID you get your cham to hand feed

I literally just held a cricket in front of Herbert on the second day that we got him. He ate it within the first minute and we never had any problems hand-feeding him. The guy at petco said that all of his cage mates were removed to ensure that they got a chance to eat because someone (I won't...

    Zoomed Daylight Blue UVA bulbs

Just got off of the phone with zoomed. The guy told me to look at the bronze contact point within the fixture. He asked if it was flat or bent upwards. Mine was bent upwards slightly (maybe 5 - 10 degrees), so he said to bend it up closer to a 45 degree angle to ensure a good contact point. He...

    Zoomed Daylight Blue UVA bulbs

I have a zoomed dual dome light that supports up to two 100w bulbs. I have a compact fluorescent 10.0 UVB zoomed bulb on one side, and a 100w Day Light Blue zoomed bulb on the other side. They each have their own ballast, switch, and power supply. I never had any problems with the UVB compact...

Which supplements do you use for your chameleon?

On the ingredient list, it says vitamin A acetate. It that a good source? I would hope that the bottle of reptivite with a jacksons chameleon on it contained vitamin A that a chameleon could absorb. If not, zoo med needs to step up their game.
