Im thinking its a respiratory problem or something coulda been caught in his throat. But then again, I don't know much. But I'm sure the Vet will know. I wish you and your Cham luck. Hope he gets better! Keep us updated.
Heres a nice setup. This is not mine, this is JonathanF's of these forums.
Basically, all you do is put the dripper on top of the cage, and have the water drip off some leaves, and into a little bowl to catch the water.
Water bowls are a big no no. Chams wont drink out of them, and bacteria usually grows in them since Chams also like to go to the bathroom in the water. Its best to spray the cage a few times a day, and have a dripper going aswell. Also if hes in a aquarium, its best to get him in a cage asap...
Yes, lack of Calcium, and sometimes too much calcium can cause MBD. Like dusting every day for long periods etc. etc. There is no cure for MBD, but you can stop it from getting any worse, or so I think. For example, if he/she has bowed limbs due to MBD, you can nurse him/her back to full...
I have a Hibiscus, that I have out of their cage now, which Im trying to revive it since they ate almost every leaf off it lol. Try putting a Hibisucus, Ficus, or some kind of live, non-toxic plant in their cage. I tried putting some collards in the cricket dish with the crickets, but they...
I have a Schefflera, Hibiscus, and Pothos in their cage, and they tear up the Hibiscus. I haven't noticed any of them eating the Schefflera, or Pothos, but I can hear them taking a big chomp out of the Hibiscus leaves in the next room lol :D
They need time to bask so they can digest their food. If not, I guess it wont hurt for 1 day. But its better to let them have a few hours of basking time after you feed them to help them digest their food.
It takes me about 25-30 minutes a day. I don't have a automated mister, and I usually hand spray their cage 4-5 times a day. Or if I'm not home, I get someone else to do that. I also feed them about 3-4 times a day aswell. I do cleaning every other day, and at the end of the week, I do 1 big...
I also thought bigger is better, but when you think about it, do they really use all that space? Since they are tree dwellers, they are usually up high basking, in the middle cooling off, or sometimes they'll just wonder around. Do they really need all that space? I'm not sure though, I know...
You can have a food dish in the cham cage. And whenever your gone for the 2 days or whenever, your mom can just put in some silkworms/waxworms etc since their easier to handle to put in the dish. You can also have some live plants that they can munch on aswell...
Heres mine. Its not an updated one, I took this pic about 4-5 months ago. Now I have a hibiscus, and a schefflera in there, aswell as some fake foilage. Plus I have 2 conatiners on the bottom to catch water. I will post updated pics later today.
I have been using a Repti-glow for a few months now since my petstore was out of the Reptisun 5.0/10.0. My chams are healthy, and show no sign of MBD, and they are very active. In a few days though, I'm going to be ordering Reptisun bulbs online, since it will be just about time to get a new...
Aaah, now everyone is going with the funny pictures now Lol :p :D. I gotta think of a way to do something with mine now :(. This is going to be a hard contest yet again. Nice pics so far!
